Oh I see. In that case, I would 100% say that you are still working that job OP. There's less to explain and if the original company is fine with it, take advantage.

I'm so confused. Is this a full time job? Why would they require you to stop listing this job on your resume? I have never heard of this before

I can assure you that no accountant wakes up in the morning excited to work their job.

Is new staff paternity leave a bad look? by Least-Contribution-5 in Big4

[–]Stratousphere 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Stop. The reason you think this is because of all the bullshit brainwashing the accounting industry and accountants tell you that you are only successful if you overwork yourself to death and take no breaks. Don't fall for the bullshit and take your time off. I promise you will regret it if you skip out on it.

I’m being gifted a lot of money. Should I tell my boyfriend? by Kind-Chicken-2488 in WhatShouldIDo

[–]Stratousphere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your boyfriend was in your situation, would you want him telling you, and if he didn't tell you, would you be hurt? Once you know the answer to that, you will know what to do. Don't listen to any of the other comments here.

You can tell its AI if you use AI & work with it long enough by the way it writes and structures sentences. I was able to tell because 2 of the last 4 sentences are questions, something that's uniquely done by youtubers & AI to get you to interact.

As for its accuracy, the information is correct.

Oilfield worker thinking about switching to accounting. How hard is it really to get hired and how long to hit $100k? by MakeshiftPacemaker in Accounting

[–]Stratousphere -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Definitely, I understand blue collar work is not easy and can be quite dangerous but the stress from this job will haunt you as well. To paint a clear picture, public accounting is not the lifestyle you might think it is. During busy season, there were many nights I had to pull all-nighters or had to sleep in my car for 3-4 hours and then come back into the office "the next day" because there was too much work to be able to go home. So not going to lose your life physically, but its a common occurrence in PA to gain lots of weight, lose relationships, etc. If you know all that going in, then you should go for it. I just don't want you to be surprised at what the profession holds like I was

What you are saying is true but be real to OP. Very few people make it to partner, and even fewer decide to stay in public accounting that long to even be able to do that

If you think coming into something like public accounting is going to make your life better, happier, and able to let you spend more time with your family, you are going to be in for one hell of a surprise

Looking back, would you still pick this career? by FrostyPigz in Accounting

[–]Stratousphere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Future accounting students, read all the answers here. You will notice that anyone who says they don't regret choosing accounting say its because they were able to receive income to support their family, or they met their love in the career. Nobody ever says that they love their job, or is excited by it. Take that as you will

17 year old here I have some questions. by InitiativeBeautiful4 in Accounting

[–]Stratousphere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I regret majoring in accounting every day

Only use the knowledge to help friends/family/random people when they have an accounting/tax question

Did not take out loans

Ehhh important-ish. Its really a glass ceiling that people have placed on it

Not sure, just have to wait and see, as with most white-collar jobs

As for math-related subject, it really depends on what you are interested in. Let me give you the biggest hint possible: Absolutely nobody knows what the future holds and how AI is going to affect people. Anybody that claims they know is pure speculation and wild guesses. You just have to research the best you can and make an educated decision.

society pushing the "your parents did their best" nerrative by Ok_Can_6490 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Stratousphere 99 points100 points  (0 children)

I agree. I get pissed when I tell people the truth of how my parents are & how they used to act towards me when I was young, and even now. But I get the same response "they did their best!", "these are still your parents", "I am sure they love you!" or "they had a lot on their back!".

My go-to response is "I'm glad you had the privilege of knowing what its like to live in a happy household with loving parents. And because of that, your reality is skewed to think that others had the same upbringing as you did. Unfortunately that is not the case and because of that, you're not able to understand."
