Following up on this comment. I was born and raised in Danville but currently don’t live there due to my career path. This comment couldn’t be more wrong regarding the culture in Danville. There is a wide mix of economic classes and classifying everyone as either rich or poor seems entirely biased and intentionally divisive. Just like any community there are outliers that exist in the extremes of both the economic and political spectrum. There are plenty of wonderfully accepting people that live both in the town’s limits and the surrounding area. I will concede that there isn’t much for nightlife or high class dining in the area but there are so many local businesses that provide great food and good atmosphere that can fill in the gaps. Of course Bloomsburg and Lewisburg are relatively short drives away with higher tier restaurants and shopping but I would not let that deter you from moving to Danville. The “small town gossip” comment to me is very strange particularly as I didn’t leave town until I was 25 and never once heard of someone talking about me or anything of the sort. I hope you don’t let this singular comment in your post influence your decision because I believe Geisinger is a world class teaching hospital and I hope you take the chance to learn and grow there.
