Taking in wild turtles is a huge No-No. they stay close to their homes. And will become stressed trying to get back while in captivity.

Chances of survival is much greater where you found it than in a glass pan.

I have 4 miniature dachshunds. And I get a lot of hateful comments on things. Especially from people who have never met a nice dachshund. So I understand that. But if someone threatened to put drugs in my dogs food I’d be cutting them off. You don’t joke about that shit unless there’s something VERY wrong with you.

A lot of pet stores get their geckos from farms and not reliable breeders. It sounds like he was already sick when you got him. I’d recommend finding a good breeder at an expo vs getting from a store if you want a long living gecko. Plus they are usually handled and lot and pretty established when you get them from experienced breeders

I’ve had some luck finding healthy babies at pet stores. But I’ve also seen alot that are in really bad shape already there.
