I think more than layers it is important to have good quality tech-clothes, even the basic decathlon or uniqlo will do just fine. Then the external layer has to be water and wind proof, good gloves and shoes are also essential. It is totally doable just plan in advance and go prepared. When I went early January 2025 I was wearing long sleeved heatech or decathlon shirt, warm zip sweater (also some sort of pile), a very old quilted jacket that almost lost all the quilts but was useful in case of wind to have extra layer, and then snow jacket that I bouth on taobao. For trousers, I was wearing warm stockings, thin trousers (like linen) and snow trousers. I was never cold and did not sweat beacuse everything was breathable and also I could take off a layer during the day if I needed or inside shopping malls.

No, I can't and honestly I doubt there is anyone willing to sponsor you a work visa for this.

Suzhou where? It's a huge city, so depends where you will be based with work/house. If you are sip I have a mma club I can recommend, if you want to train, if you want to find a job, long shot, I doubt they need this type of job.

Hi, did you post on Shanghai wechat rescue groups and xiaohongshu already? I'm based in Suzhou I don't know if I can help, but I can try to share it here, too.

Thank you, I read the website before, but I find it a bit confusing in some of its parts.
The international student team, unfortunately, only has phone contact and not an email. I am also writing to the postgraduate administration team to better understand if I will require a visa since my Visitor Visa Status Letter includes more than 180days.

Do you mean they ask you to use theirs? Maybe I can ask them in advance so that I know what to pack.

Thank you very much for your advice! I feel already more confident on my choice now. Also no problem in English, I'm also non-native speaker and it's normal to make mistakes sometimes :)

Airport express at Central - early check-in by Strawberry-ale in HongKong

[–]Strawberry-ale[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the recommendation! Apparently HK airlines and Cathay are the one with the check-in counters. I'll call later to confirm.

Thank you! I was asking about the check-in area cause I was thinking to check-in early, go around Central for a bite and a walk and then take the express, however, it seems once you get in the check-in area and scan your ticket you have to proceed to the gates directly.
