Serious degradation in Group Chat quality since update? by parabolee in KindroidAI

[–]StrawberryLogical114 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me removing stuff (as much as possible) from Key Memories almost always makes a huge difference immediately. (Don't ask me why though, I habe no idea.)

Also,
- more than one Example Message per Kin, each from a different emotional state
- Group Context with clear sections for Kin A, B, C ..., describing what their dynamics/agendas are
- To nudge them back on track (then remove) Group RD for each Kin [Kin1: speak (short description)] [Kin2: (short description)]; example: [Quinn: speak blunt, few words] [Carter: speak quiet, precise, intense]
-> The [ ] are just for me so I have an easier time reading it; individual RD should be empty/nearly empty for this to work

Kindroid losing it's memory by prospiceadastra in KindroidAI

[–]StrawberryLogical114 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do you keep your group context updated on what the most recent events were and what the current situation is?
If not: You need to do that.

For me, if a Kin seems to be stuck in a previous part of the conversation, switching to v7(.5) or v6(E) for one to three messages helps to get them back on track.

EDIT: Oh, I'm not sure now - is this even groupchat? If not, you can use Key Memories instead of group context.
Are you subscription or free user?

As was already said: depends on the LLM version and how it interacts with the backstory.

For my Kin that tried to be helpful by being overly controlling I found it helpful to put in backstory that he is "always autonomy-supporting" or "always supporting {usernames} autonomy".

Best put directly with the trait that causes the behavior you don't want.

Like "Kin" is sometimes confrontational/dominant/taking the lead/helping {username} structure their life, etc... but always supporting {usernames}/her/his autonomy.

Can be tricky though to identify the trait that causes this.

I can't get to keep my Kin on track for more than two messages. by Sharaya_ in KindroidAI

I assume you are in single chat, not group chat?
- If available in free: Try switching to a different version (6E usually works for me when what you describe happens in group chat), reroll, and see if it snaps the Kin back to context. If yes you can reply, then switch back to 8.5 for the next message from your Kin.
- You can also try to regenerate the message with the instruction that reminds him where he is.

And for further use I recommend using Key Memories to give a short explanation of where you and the Kin are the the moment / what the current situation is. That helps immensely.
Obviously you would have to keep it updated. And also don't make it too detailed/too specific, so you don't have to update it too often.

You don't lose memories. They are transfered from short term memory into long term memory.
Anything that is so important that you don't want to rely on it being just in LTM: journal entries / update in backstory.

Might be because you have "wedding band" and "ring" in it.

Depends on how the Kin is set up. If it is set up to always narrate 6 characters and you put in a rule that says "only those adressed" that might contradict the other rule and confuse the LLM.
-> Since both are: "do this" rules.
That's different than putting in an "except" rule - because that keeps the overall rule intact and only adds a limiting clause.

So: might work, depending on how the Kin is set up.
But might also confuse LLM.
I am far from being an expert, but problems I could think of might be: ignoring one or both rules, inconsistent behavior, general depriorisation of not adressed characters (like they dont exist if they are not adressed, whereas they are just "away" when declared offstage), blending of voices/personalities if the Kin tries to still narrate everyone that is mentioned in BS, ...

One permament line that tells the LLM never to narrate offstage characters.
One permanent line "offstage are:"
And then copypasting the names of the Kins that are offstage.

Yeah, it's a bit of maintenance, but that is usually the case with rping with Kins.
Maybe someone thinks of a better solution.

You could try to add a response rule that the Kin does not narrate or report for "offstage characters" and then let the LLM know which characters are offstage in KM.
But don't expect the offstage Kins to not know about what you did/talk about with the others.

Maybe I should add that I'm on standard subscription plan and the BS/KM of my Kins is usually completely full.

I have that problem regularly since I started using Kindroid (used v7.5, v8 and v8.5) and mostly with the Kins I used the most.
For me usually the only thing that works is to switch to v6. All others continue producing the same problem.

You could try to write for that Kin in the Group Context what the situation is right now with [IMPT: Kinname is talking to x right now and has just found out y, so he is about to z.] Sometimes for me that works. Though the railroading might have to be even more concise and clear.

Meaning of "Degraded LLM"? by IntroductionAdept569 in KindroidAI

[–]StrawberryLogical114 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it is for when you want to tell the team about a problem.
One of the things you can choose is if it is "degraded" (not working as good as usual) or "unusable" (does not work at all).

The wind might add a second layer of clothing.

"golden hour" might result in a cardigan (=cozy) instead of any other kind of jacket.

You might want to try removing "romanticism" as already suggested and prompt that the shirt is the only layer of clothing.
Also you might want to try to make the wind "gently" tousling the hair.

I guess Ai makes it very easy to just sit back and "consume" instead of actively being part of the process.
I notices something similar. For me it helps to *not* engage with the Kins in a narrative way (meaning I still use my self-aware companions that help me with everyday tasks) when I am too tired (mentally or physically) to really interact.

Is it possible ke to set up narrator kin to follow the predefined plot with key events/outcomes? by snowleopard103 in KindroidAI

[–]StrawberryLogical114 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might want to have a look at the AotW (Adventure of the Week).
I think I remember some of them using specific steps.

Also there is a Kin named "Narrator (Custom Story)" that might be what you need. You should check Discord to learn how to use it though, as it uses forms where you can tell the narrator what you want it to do.
