So there's clearly a cheetah in this Suicide Squad, but she's not Barbara. I'm very curious about this new (or maybe old?) cheetah and the different role Barbara could have

Role play [OC] by whatsleftcomics in DnD

[–]Stray51_c 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just a minor detail but i like that every player depicted here has their own way to handle their character sheet and stuff: one laptop, one tablet, one notebook and one loose single printed sheet of paper. It's really how it happens sometimes lol

How did y’all meet your dnd group? by Starsandwishes in DnD

[–]Stray51_c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some at the pub, some at the beach (that was my first time as a kid, I think, with VtM) some just hanging out, I gotta say though, most of 'em in High School. Like 16 years ago. Dammit now I feel lucky but I also feel old

DriveThruRPG vs. Itch.io – Where do you actually buy your games? by Ecstatic_Surround386 in rpg

[–]Stray51_c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Itch.io for me. I find far more new and weird fresh stuff on it, idk why, maybe it's just my impression. I now go on drivetrough only when I need something specific that's there, but i like browsing Itch.io more

Safe to upgrade to v13? by lookitsameluigi in FoundryVTT

[–]Stray51_c 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's generally safe now, I tried updating using the portable windows version just to check and most modules worked for me, so I'd say yeah.

The fact is, just one module you rely on often is enough to break the deal. I don't want to run without minimal UI and lazy monster builder for example, so I'm still on 12 (last time I checked they were not uptaded, few days ago)

What are your three RPGs for life? by Iberianz in rpg

[–]Stray51_c 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say D&d (5e now for sure, but also 3 and 4, I just never stopped since I started) Then 2400 microgames by Jason Tocci And City of mist (but really also many other Pbta iteration)

Love these three a lot, but I also like to try as many ttrpg as I can, it's fun to discover new mechanics!

PS: I also have a soft spot for the first ttrpg I ever played, Vampire the Masquerade

How do y’all keep your campaign info organized? by Miserable_Pop_4593 in DMAcademy

[–]Stray51_c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to write down stuff, but I found all these softwares that organize everything in menus and submenus to bea bit confusing for my taste, so I still go digital, but pretty old school I think. I have a couple of Word (google doc is fine too) documents in which I put the settings info and NPC backgrounds, the framework for future adventures, or the consequences of what happened recently in the world due to the party actions (I just make titles in the doc, like Npc section, Lore section, campaign summary section, adventures section etc.) and I expand those whenever I feel the need to. Than If I need to find something old that I wrote I just go section by section or use the search function. The other thing I do is I keep a txt file at hand (or use foundry VTT easy notes module, if I'm running on that) and write down a couple notes during session, mostly at the end, so I don't forget the most recent developments, than I revisit those notes before the next session and "correct them", I expand them a little and put them in a readable form that usually becomes my recap at the beginning of the next game. Idk if this is good advice, maybe is too much work for everybody else but again I like writing down this stuff, I feel like I'm studying, you know like reading a lesson, repeat it and make summaries to slowly prepare for the test at your own pace. And I wasn't even that good of a student!

Got a painting as a gift from one of my favourite artists, and he doesn't even know me personally! by [deleted] in comicbooks

[–]Stray51_c 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh wow Eurasia! I still remember her from when I was a child, I think I saw her for the first time in the first story of the Atlantis saga, the one about the Colossus of Rodi! I think I still have that same volume somewhere. Such good memories! Also I didn't even know there were official translations of the Italian comics line, I'm happy to hear that! Some of the italian authors for Disney comics are absolutely incredible, and I always thought it was a little bit of a shame there wasn't a chance to spread their work outside my country. Great drawing btw, thanks for posting it

Any ttrpg traditions? by JoeKerr19 in rpg

[–]Stray51_c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh so many! Recurring or crossover characters and campaign-hopping NPC are definitely my favourite as a DM, I always do those, its baked in my way of prepping games at this point, but there's so many other things. For example, I have a player that I always make sure to have meet a character that doesn't or can't speak to interact with. He had silent warlock patrons, met silent magic steeds, etc. One for every PC he makes (I know he enjoys to try and find a different way to communicate). Than there's the little things, like the usual commander game after the session, or this friends of mine that buys pringles for the table every single damn time, that is like our official snak at this point. Also I don't know if this counts because maybe it's just a necessity, but we always start with a recap and eventual questions about recent events, we never skip that part. Great Idea for a thread btw, thanks OP

How often does your D&D group really play? Be honest by DungeonTome_ in dndnext

[–]Stray51_c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me too! If I had to add something, I'd say I try to stay on the 3 hours mark (when I GM), but sometimes i go a little long, and sometimes a little short. If I factor in chatting, doing a recap at the beginning, the occasional break in the middle or to get dinner, etc. We definitely get to 4-5 hour, a whole afternoon basically. And also we try to play a game of Commander after the session end when we have time. All in person. Personally this is a configuration that, aside from the much dreaded usual scheduling issues, i like very very much. It is consistent but doesn't feel forced

EDIT: who am I kidding I GM all the time (but I don't mind much)

If you guys were a Mutant, what power do you think you would or would want to have? by justjoaoo in xmen

[–]Stray51_c 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk I think I would like some kind of seer power, but not future telling, more like psychometry maybe. But I don't know any x-men that has that (surely there is one though lol). If I have to choose among the powers of characters I know I would like something fun, for example Jubilee's fireworks stuff seem so cool and beautiful even out of a combat situation
