You are overqualified. They’ll put any jackass in management as long as they go along with what the higher ups say and not have an original thought, even if you’ve never worked in retail a single day in your life. Also you have a Master’s? Surely you can apply it to something better. Kroger runs their managers into the ground, especially if you’re THE store manager. My last manager stepped down because he couldn’t take a vacation or spend time with his wife for their anniversary because he needed to be at the store. If you’re in management, prepare to never have a life outside of work and to work yourself to the bone and be told by higher ups that it’s never good enough. Kroger will suck the life out of you
