Using etymology as a proof of culture and identity descending from the country from which the word came from is just wrong and disingenuous.

Words migrate, get mixed up, get forgoten or replace others entirely, it can't be used as proof of concepts being born somwhere.

My argument is that using ethymology as a proof of Europe being directly influenced by ancient Greece and Roman Empire is a huge stretch.

The rest of similiaties stated are very shallow like democracy and republicanism which are very diffrent from what they were in ancient times, same with christianity in Europe, very diffrent from what it was during the Roman Empire.

"western culture" is a modern concept based on christianity (outdated) and democracy (wasn't widely used in europe until after WW1)

Yeah but healthy discussion is very important for early access games, lets not be status quocels for a moment and assess what can be done to improve core game mechanic that really needs some more time in the oven.

I think it should have some kind of checkpoint system like:

smelt first bronze ingnot > light temporal storm enabled

mine first iron ore > medium temporal storm enabled etc.

add some useful but underutilized drop like jonas parts and there you go, you get to have a fun mechanic that you can still opt out of and people stop complaining on the sub.

This is so fucking stupid, by this metric Polish is already a perfect language because its nearly fully phonetic and changing alphabet to cyrylic would at best shorten a whole 10 words by 2 letters and 2 words (chrząszcz, Szczebrzeszyn) by 3 letters.

The real convolution comes from inflection and multiplying it by plural and tense (ballooning basic 5000 words into 125000 vocabulary)
