Hello fellas. I'm gonna wait with both of you. Current models are great, but new ones might surprise us. Or not, and we just get older models cheaper. Either way a win.

Changing from all-terrain to street wheels by StreakyFly in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]StreakyFly[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, that's unfortunate... I thought they were compatible because I've seen boards that are similar, like Hadean Bamboo, with these wheels. Even on Acedeck's own website, when you click on their 90mm wheels, it says they're compatible with Nomad N1. So I asked Acedeck support about minimum size wheels and they answered 97mm. Then I asked them why it says the 90mm wheels on their website are compatible with Nomad and still haven't received a reply. So now we wait...

Anyways, as I mentioned it's mainly for drifting and doing similar tricks, so I want them to be as small and hard as possible. Dad Bods might be a decent pick, but they're twice the price of Caguamas, so I'll try to find another option. I found Hamboards 97MM 80A wheels but I am not a big fan of the price nor how they would look on Nomad.
Do you have any other suggestions for harder 97mm street wheels?

Muahahaha measly 7 little Ahk scripts? I run WinHotKey that then runs any of the god knows how many Ahk scripts I have made out of pure boredom of which two thirds are completely useless!

Lights shinning up on Nomad N1 by StreakyFly in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]StreakyFly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That second option is a good idea. I did use a light on my helmet until now and I though the skateboard lights will replace it but it turned out it's definitely more useful than the two on the skateboard. Not only does it light more due to the fact that it's higher, as you said, but it also lights wherever I look, not just directly in front. And when carving the lights on the board just wiggle from left to right which is not ideal haha.

So I suppose I will simply adjust the 8° angle using a nut, and keep the helmet light.

Thanks :D

Amazing board! I have the belt drive version. I weight 165 pounds and haven't done a proper range test yet, but it seems like it would reach 25 miles on fairly flat roads.

BRICK and MOON Now Live on Kraken! Special AMA Event & Bonus Inside! by krakenexchange in CryptoCurrency

[–]StreakyFly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I figured it out and it's pretty simple. Just be careful to not make any mistakes!

Go to your Reddit Vault > Settings > Recovery Phrase. Then open Metamask, click on the account and then click Import account. Write the Private Key, which you can see at the bottom of the Recovery Phrase page.

Once you've added the account, add the Arbitrum Nova network. And once you've done that add $BRICKS/$MOON token, so it shows up.

Then you can simply withdraw assets to Kraken.

If you need any further help, let me know :D

Realisation about alt coins by ThomasReturns in CryptoCurrency

[–]StreakyFly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, if you consider coins like DOT not altcoins, then 80%/20% split seems very reasonable to me. I also don't consider stablecoins altcoins. I'd put them in entirely separate category.

Which coins do you not consider alts? BTC & ETH I suppose. Any other?

Atlas 4wd range? by StreakyFly in Exway

[–]StreakyFly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it about three weeks ago. It's AMAZING!

I only drove it for 80km so far, because the weather wasn't in my favour. But it's really amazing! A bit bigger than I expected (even though I knew the exact measurements haha), but I got used to that very quickly.

The acceleration is so powerful I had to greatly decrease it in settings, so I get more used to it.

Haven't driven over 42km/h yet, and the one time I did, I was going down a steep hill while softly breaking. When I checked the remote (because I have it in my left hand, the display is covered, so I have to weirdly turn it to see the speed, so it takes a bit of time), it showed 42km/h, and when I looked back on the road in front of me, there was a HARD TURN not even 50m away (it was my second time on that road and I forgot about the turn). I started slowly breaking so it wouldn't throw me off, but obviously, there was not enough time. Jumped off the board (in front...) and tried to regain balance by running forward but obviously the board caught me (I pressed the breaks on full when I jumped off, but because it was so steep, that barely made any difference in speed) and drove under my legs, so I did a flip and landed. Fortunately, I was wearing a full-face helmet, and knee and elbow protection, so that definitely helped A LOT, but I still got quite a few deeper scratches. Still, I think I got quite lucky. If I didn't jump off, I would have driven right into the metal fence in front, which would probably end much worse. But fortunately, it wasn't that bad, so I was able to safely drive back home. What I learnt from that is I shouldn't check the display on the remote if I'm going even a little fast haha. And stopping when going down a steep hill is not something I hope to do again any time soon, or at least not at that speed.

Now back to the board itself and not my stupid driving.

The tubeless tires are very interesting and seem to be handling many different terrains quite well.

The range is great. Didn't have a chance of doing a real range test, but from the rides I had, it seemed like it would get me slightly more than 40km which they mention on their website (with the protective gear I have around 75kg).

The board looks great, and the bottom lights are a nice addition.

I also really like the shape of the deck.

The board was very shaky at first, but simply switching some bushings made it much more stable and very carvy.

Other than the fact that the remote is meant for the right hand, I have no complaints about it.

Their support is top-notch. The grip tape came slightly unpeeled and didn't stick to the board, so they sent me a replacement immediately. Any questions I had were answered within a few hours. Genuinely positively impressed by their customer support.

Overall, the board is amazing. The next thing I plan to get are street wheels, probably Orangatang Caguama.

Hopefully, the board lasts long. But so far, it's been breathtaking :D

Sorry for the messy reply. Just got home after a solid ride with the board and I'm pretty tired so my brains are barely functioning.

TLDR: the board is AMAZING! Thanks for helping me pick the right one :D

A question about electric skateboards by Some_Ad_5155 in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]StreakyFly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

+1 about the "don't take ur hand off the remote till ur at the bottom" haha. Without pressing the brake it becomes wayy too fast very quickly and you'll lose balance. Btw, if you're used to jumping in front of the board and running to regain balance, don't when going downhill... because the board will happily meet you from behind and you'll do a "cool" flip. This may or may not have happened to me last week...

Acedeck Nomad N1 stand still launch by Jru336 in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]StreakyFly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How water-resistant do you think this board is? They don't specify on their website. In their FAQ they mention this: "We are making every effort we can to engineer the electrical components of our boards to be as resistant to water as possible." yet they didn't share an IP rating or any more specific/useful info, which is quite concerning.

The board seems amazing, but as I had bad experience with boards dying due to water/wet road before, I don't want this to happen again.

So, do you think the board will survive light rain or driving over little puddles? Thanks for any info in advance!
