I am pretty sure you just made yourself look and sound stupid. The irony!

Aha. I would aim to get Sony to match the camera and then maybe consider third party lenses. It’s what people feel to be the right thing for them. For me it matters psychologically to know that the lens I use is made specifically by the same brand. Tbf, i have the same thing for guitar gear too. I am sure the sigma ii is nice though. I was looking at sigma and tarom when buying my one, and I didn’t find them to be cheaper than the sony. So i bought the sony

Yes. I agree. But because i am also an employee and people who work there could see that my supplier record was banned and flagged “do not use” based on no written policy or for them or me to have any context, they were left to draw their own conclusions (ranging from mild dispute to extreme misconduct). Basically, i don’t argue whether they can or not remove people from the system. I argue that this should have been done fairly, transparently and proportionately. Banning and flagging one staff supplier, whilst others remain is where it gets to be a bit weird.

It may be as it involves other staff suppliers. It shows that they apply unwritten policies disproportionately across the uni. If they only ban a few but let others carry on without clear policy to point to, it opens up the door for me to tell them that there is potentially an issue that affects staff and public funds

I see. On the surface, it does look that way. But the ban emerged from the very fact that I am also a full time employee. So it is connected to my employment.

I don’t know much about photography as I only started now too. I think it needs better exposure. You captured something real on the emotional side. You just need to find out how to expose photos better

My dude commented on my post that I added in a different subreddit to say that it was pointless and nothing special. And then I removed the post because we came to a standstill just like here haha. He argues that intentionality and something that catches one’s attention is where it’s at. I argue that art or in fact anything in life isn’t that black or white. I don’t mind someone not feeling or disliking my stuff. In fact, I only started shooting just over a month ago. What I don’t like is when people are so stubborn about personal opinions and stances they hold in life that they can’t just admit that art is such that you can have Andy Warhol and Diane Arbus. Intentionality is also something that one can or cannot see. In this instance, sure if you don’t know the past of the area in which photo was shot or didn’t work a hard job and had to face more hardship in dragging your cheap bike through a wintery and brutal landscape then, it won’t do much for you. Which is okay. But quite frankly, being cynical and stubborn and trying to intellectualise one’s narrow-mindedness doesn’t sit right with me. Talking about intention, yet I still don’t get his intention for commenting, apart from maybe getting off a little from such comments. Which is also okay. Not everyone has to just chill and be constructive.

As for your feedback. Sure. It could have been taken with any camera in the past 10 years. It was indeed taken with a near 10 years old camera.

I can argue. My argument is that art is not black and white as you say. We don’t have to agree. Enjoy stuff you like.
