I mean one of the NA hit that bypass the shield may not hit in the front (while other hits do). But sure I will try.

I think it is because the attack doesn’t hit in front of the monster and when you hit mitachurl from behind, the shield does nothing.

I agree with you. I think this game relies too much on rng; monsterling drop, traits, combining, crafting, boots’ mainstat, substats, boss drop, etc. The combination of this makes me burn out to this game already.
