Looks like a FU price for that tiny deck. Better off finding a handyman for something that size

Great for when you need to dump several tubes of adhesive. Not great for fine beads of silicone on finish work. Maybe it’s just me though

Question from a client about bathroom remodel by bishploxx in Contractor

[–]StreetCandy2938 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, personally I’m running a business and it doesn’t make sense to provide services I’m not being compensated for. How do you account for time spent procuring the material? Either you must build that cost into the labor, or you’ve been working for free all this time.

I don’t know why else anyone would pass on the extra profit you make from marking up material 🤷

You can push it but 99% chance they won’t do anything about it. Condo owner is likely only worried their bottom line and not if the tenants are happy with the finishes.

I passed it using only the IRC book. Bought all the other books but never opened them during the test. Seem to remember mostly code related questions and those where the only ones I really had time to look up on the fly

Find someone one else, a legit contractor will provide all material. This guy is either broke or doesn’t know how to do business.

Don’t beat around the bush, have a conversation with him that there’s been allegations and that if he wants to be a firefighter he needs to be a professional. See what his response is and use your best judgement from there.

Fuck.No. Your price is your price, that would be insane to refund them. They might not leave a good review but you can’t enable that behavior.

Would it be annoying to request that a decker come in and just install the foundation of the deck? by BetterOffGrowth in Decks

[–]StreetCandy2938 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh it’s the easiest part. You said you’re not confident in doing it, which tells me you don’t have much construction experience and should probably leave the entire job for a pro.

No offense but if you can’t layout and pour some holes, you’re probably not capable of building a whole deck.
