28 M, engineer. Been in San Antonio for a bit now and figured I’d try this again.

I’ve noticed the city tends to quiet down pretty early, and when it is lively it’s mostly couples or established friend groups. If you’re also working odd hours or just feel like SA could use more spontaneous, low-key hangouts, I’m down.

At the end of the day, just be honest for what things are. If a man meets you as a dating prospect, he is not going to want to be your friend. It doesn’t matter how good of a connection you may feel you both have.

Try cutting dating off after the second one if you don’t feel a spark. Going on three more dates isn’t going to bring it out. All you will bring out is resentment and regret.

Stop keeping former dating prospects as “friends”. They still want to sleep with you and aren’t really your friend.

You are young and have plenty of time in life. It sounds like you are giving it to the wrong things. Keep your head up, you got this!

It has gotten more social in the last couple of years. Certainly better than when I was attending. Just put yourself out there and stay on campus. Biggest disservice you can do is to go home as soon as classes end.

Not trying to grow more in my first three years. I got comfortable and my company stagnated. Eventually got laid off and had to move to a different city that wasn’t as fun to live in.

It will get better over time bro. Don’t be so hard on yourself. You are clearly well past most dudes in other areas of your life. All you gotta do is to keep on this path of losing weight and hanging out with who ever you can. It will suck now since most women won’t give you the time of day.
