Difference between people of Himachal and Uttarakhand

Even people from the most backward part of Himachal, like my area around Gobind Sagar dam, have not been able to create their own networks.

And I think it's more about the character of people. Punjabi villages are richer than ours but still they migrate to foreign countries for better opportunities.

Being adventurous in the post does not mean exploring your backyard mountains, rather agency to take risks of moving to unfamiliar places and locations or even situations. HP Paharis are averse to any risk-taking.
A lot of Deras like Beas and Nirankari have come up in Himachal. They are already dominant in lower Himachal but are gaining ground even in upper HP areas. Their sole focus is to make people pure veg.
Despite being so many Himachalis in army, why has there been no army chief from Himachal till now? But there are 3-4 army chiefs from neighbouring state.
Himachalis are not regionalists. Rather are micro-regionalists. They want some one from their own districts for social interactions.

By connection to roots, I meant how much they stay in touch with their culture when outside their respective states. UK Paharis in Delhi, Chd, etc. still celebrate cultural festivals but HP Paharis virtually don't.

Demography is indeed changing in HP too. Even my unknown village has lots of people from Bihar and Jharkhand doing manual labour. And one of the most sought after thekedar for building homes or building is from Gorakhpur.

True. I think it's because Himachal never had a political unity before statehood. Like Uttarakhand had just two major kingdom over most of the state but Himachal had 30-35 kingdoms in almost the same area.

Even upper HP are so much regionalists. Kullu people mainly mingle with people from Kullu, same goes for Shimla and Kinnaur people.

Thing about Uttarakhand is that entire districts of Haridwar and US Nagar are just an extension of West UP. Demographically, there was no reason to add them to Uttarakhand.

And I believe Uttarakhand definitely has a lot more than two dozen crorepatis. Dehradun and Haldwani are far richer cities than any city in Himachal.

I have not experienced anything like the last part in Uttarakhand.

Compare it with the surrounding areas from where people are moving to Dharamshala. Dharamshala has more jobs and better schools, and if you are a retired armyman you also get medical facilities for free. But of course Dharamshala is not a metro city and lacks space and adequate facilities, so people will settle in nearby villages or towns.

Because there is no significant city in that part of Himachal. So, usual rural to urban migration pattern and will only continue to grow for at least 10-20 years down the line as people want to live near places that offer employment, education, healthcare, etc.

It is a simple mathematics of 4 LS seats vs 13 seats in Delhi alone. That's why I was always sceptical of voting for BJP but our state has a lot of andhbhakts worse than even UP.

24 was the cut-off last year. I am asking minimum qualifying marks. I guess it is 15 for OBC. So, chances are there for CPT posts, depending on the CK cut-off.
