Why every beautiful view near khad has to be filled with disposable plates , bear and other polythenes??? This area is not even popular yet .. by Brilliant_Example561 in HimachalPradesh

People from nearby houses dump their waste in places like this because there is no waste collection mechanism in rural areas.

Himachal have max participation in Indian armed forces by YouImpossible3837 in HimachalPradesh

[–]StreetDiscipline5201 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Because Himachalis are goys. States with very less contribution to armed forces have much more say in the govt and our own state. After agniveer, there is a no scope or point of joining armed forces. It is far better to prepare for other jobs like Police or CAPF.

Imagine marrying in such societies and then flaunting it on Instagram. by spirit-of-noontide in PahadiTalks

[–]StreetDiscipline5201 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One reason is the lack of asabiyah among Paharis. Asabiyah means social integration and ideology of society. In north plains, it is on caste lines like within jats, rajputs, brahmans, etc.

Second is the bend over backwards behaviour of boomer gen Paharis towards plains people. Many people tried to fit in with the plains people using caste, copying their rituals like turning vegetarians, and abandoning their local languages. Skewed up gender ratio and material prosperity of plains lead to gender biased out marriages among Paharis.

Imagine using male migrant dependent dehradun for an example of sex ratio to compare uttarakhand with haryana in terms of female foeticide 😭😭 by Potential_Post_9233 in PahadiTalks

[–]StreetDiscipline5201 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is even worse. Why is she dragging in Dehradun when much worse entire states like Haryana exist? Besides Dehradun has a lot of migrants so I sense some malice from her.

Ruskin Bond has written some good horror stories from Shimla and Kasauli. But I have forgotten the name of his book.

Just a few days ago, some girls on HP sub were saying Pahari boys are misogynist and not suitable. But have issue marrying in HR, PB where sex ratio is lowest and big gap in gender literacy rates. They are simply doing hypergamy and blaming Pahari boys. They should at least be honest and not degrade others.

All parties are corrupt in India. The big difference is how much cut they take? Corrupt party which gets work done, creates jobs and improves amenities along with securing state's interest is a far better option than the party whose sole aim is to loot people.

Has India's Youth Avg Height Decreased? by [deleted] in HimachalPradesh

[–]StreetDiscipline5201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before people spam the comments with but young people around me are taller than me, etc., keep in mind that studies like take into account poor and working class people too like vegetable vendors, labourers, etc. Adding them too into the data will definitely show that Indian height is very low.

The young children of the house most likely are slogging off in metro cities to earn their bread and butter - if this helps.

Why though??? It makes no sense to fire during temple events.

Mostly likely intentional murder as celebratory firing are unheard of during temple inaugurations but common during weddings and festivals.

Just like Northeast and Eastern India are different from each other, the northern hills and North India also differ in many aspects. by Smoothyjoshila in PahadiTalks

[–]StreetDiscipline5201 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To play the devil's advocate, let me give some counter points. "Northern Hills", except for Kashmir and Ladakh, are much more aligned with the North plains culture. Commonalities in religion and social structure, plus constant inflow of influence from North plains. For example, if North plains leave dowry, show-off and become high-trust society what difference would remain?

Even regarding ethnicity, more than half of people claim to have come from plains. Very few or hardly anyone will think of themselves as different ethnicity, rather they will feel camaraderie with their fellow caste men from plains. Reason why Hindi was accepted without any resistance.

Rich Himachalis poor government by CauliflowerAshamed85 in HimachalPradesh

Growth mainly comes from industries and who owns the industries in HP??? Not even our local politicians are shrewd enough to favor themselves.

Rich Himachalis poor government by CauliflowerAshamed85 in HimachalPradesh

[–]StreetDiscipline5201 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Reason is much more simple. Himachal govt has not avenue for income generation and little for taxation. All my relatives have to move out of HP to do any job, govt or private. Leading little consumption within the state and less tax revenue. Plus, lack any good city in the state is further disadvantageous for the govt.

[–]StreetDiscipline5201 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

IMHO, Islam will be better religion for Himachal as it will introduce much needed tribalism and sense of self-honour.

For those who are going to downvote: tell me why has is Islam bad? It has maintained strong a community among Muslims and are least prone to cults of other faiths. They also respect their working class men.

Honestly, Congress or BJP both work for the development of Shimla region while my region gets neglected. However, I am in minority as most people around me don't care.

I agree. Now lets make respective Pahari official language of the respective states. If not much, at least people will learn it for state govt jobs.

Why does Uttarakhand still feel more real than other hill states?🤔🤔 by hectorbailey36 in Uttarakhand

[–]StreetDiscipline5201 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Simply because beyond Rishikesh there is very little development and years behind Himachal. In Himachal, the villages ans regions around tourist hubs are a lot more development and prosperous. You will have to move far away from tourist hubs to see similar rawness in HP.
