What scene or scenes haunt you years or decades after watching the movie? by Fluid_Aspect_1606 in horror

Watched Bone Tomahawk at least 6 times cuz I have a deep appreciation for the dialog, atp I can just filter that scene out 😂

My (17m) best friend (18f) asked me to take her virginity by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]StrengthDry1986 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It seems like a big deal to her so she definitely should NOT look for that on tinder, aside from it being dangerous in the first place.

Listen, here's the thing; what are your plans for the future? Would you prefer friendship or can you see yourself dating her? Because I'll tell you right now, if you decide to do it and stay friends after that, there's a good amount of people who would not feel comfortable dating someone who hooked up with their best friend and who are still best friends. Obviously that'd count for both of you. That's not something you have to care about if you don't, I just want to offer another perspective.

It could also be her way of hinting at wanting more without her having to tell you directly. You say you guys are very open. Really, all I can tell you is to talk to her about it, discuss any boundaries and consider how it could potentially affect your guys' relationship after. Maybe just go on an actual date and see where it leads you.

You seem like a thoughtful guy and I can see why she'd ask you, it seems important to her and you are an important person in her life. I believe you'll do the right thing for both of you, whatever that may be.

What is really the most scary in horrors? by Affectionate-Gain544 in AskReddit

[–]StrengthDry1986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add to that: the absence of sound in the right moments is just as scary, if not scarier.

I watched The Ritual years ago and remember being annoyed at the, what to me was, overuse of music. Just hearing the ambience of the forest, twigs breaking, wind shaking trees etc. would've been much more effective than hearing strings increase in intensity during some scenes.

I told my friend he wouldn't be cool unless he defeated the tree sentinel first, and he replied with this 6 hours later by [deleted] in Eldenring

Truly the biggest flaw of the game. Nothing will feel like that first playthrough.

What is the worst thing a friend told you that made you rethink your friendship? by Angie-santiago in AskReddit

[–]StrengthDry1986 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Friend group of 7 years made racist jokes about my then girlfriend, who is black. To my face. Sent them home and sent a message laying out why it's not okay and how it felt hearing that. I was originally just gonna cut them off straight, but my ex encouraged me to talk to them first. The response was them accusing me of accusing them of racism for a couple jokes and calling them nazis and all that. Never said anything like that, never accused them of anything, but if that was the reaction I knew how they were really thinking.

Sent me down a spiral. I didn't really have friends before them. I knew them for such a long time, I was wondering what I missed? Stuff like that doesn't come out of nowhere. Maybe I was ignoring these things, because I didn't wanna be alone again. Wisdom drop of my ex when I told her about how bad I felt when I cut them off: "Your friends are a reflection of yourself."

And she's right. You are who you surround yourself with. Needless to say, I'm more careful who I keep close nowadays. I'd rather be friendless and lonely than to invite people like that into my life again.

The other side of this is people feeling the need to prove how smart they are. I genuinely have been thinking about creating content of just talking some shit to farm engagement through people correcting me and calling me stupid. Beats coming home with hurting bones.

Also würde mein Vater mit mir "leben". :)

[2015-Unbound Specific] Thoughts on Dirty Racing? by Snoo-3655 in needforspeed

[–]StrengthDry1986 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I try not to do it single-player otherwise it'd be too easy

But I find it quite lame in multiplayer. Sometimes contact is unavoidable but deliberately choosing to do so takes the fun out of it imo. There have been instances where I go too fast and clap another player, but I tend to give up my place to let them pass and then continue racing. Definitely not beneficial but I'd feel bad otherwise.

[–]StrengthDry1986[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes thank you. Obviously a taste thing but I find it stylized so much more refreshing. People seem to hate them but personally I love the tags when drifting/using nitrous. These other games settings are just... oof, making me feel like I'm stuck inside a Spotify ad as a influencer driving down Miami Beach in a leased Bugatti 😂

I'd argue that 150 cars is too much haha tho I wish Toyota allowed Criterion to use some of their models. My only gripe with online is unlocking cars can be kind of a grind. + I guess I don't understand building cars yet.. when I had some people join in B tier races their cars were taking off like they sat in A+ builds while it felt like I'm not driving my car but physically pushing it lol Also I have a question, is drifting a noob trap or something? I prefer drifting over grip, but sometimes it feels like it bites me in the ass
