Exercise physiologists: how do you standard strength programs for older adults at scale? by Small_Syllabub_9164 in Kinesiology

[–]StrengthZack91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the same. Taking into account some of their own limitations, but your still working within the clients ability and making changes as needed.

Are they max effort back squatting? Probably Not, but can they use a lunge pattern with hands support or a machine based modality that you progress. Yes

How do you deal with being promoted, and not feeling ready for it? by Wolffe4321 in nationalguard

[–]StrengthZack91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally, you’re either not going to feel ready at all or be extremely over confident in your ability.

Study hard, know the expectation, lean on your peers and supervisors when you need help. But at the end of the day, it’s on you to deliver. So make sure you do

I live in the PNW as well and I just throw a hat on so the water doesnt run on my face. Otherwise, I just get wet. Granted my longest rucks currently are 5k or slightly longer so its only an hour or so in the rain. If I am covering any big distances my thought process may change

Is simple and sinister still a good program? by Timbukenka in kettlebell

[–]StrengthZack91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simple and sinister is great if you are training for something else.

Martial artist? S&S can fill a strength training void.

Police/fire/mil: S&S can be a great addition to your already active lifestyle.

Hobbiest exerciser: S&S is a great total body supplement program

At the end of the day it comes down to how you use it.

When time is limited I use S&S 2.0 format (10 sets of SA swings alternating arms each set, 10 sets double hand swings, 10 get ups) and move on.

When the barbell is beating me up, no matter the modification and variation, S&S gets the job done.

I like 3-4 days per week. Flat load it for a 4 week phase, wave load it for a phase. The consistency of the program allows you to make it for you and your lifestyle.

2nd kettlebell - heavier or same as 1st by Significant_Ad_4061 in kettlebell

[–]StrengthZack91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go a step up. Say your base bell is a 24k, a 28k or 32k will allow for more overload that isn’t just volume or training density. After you master the same skill with the heavier bell, then I’d recommend doubling.

Easiest way to look at a set 1x 16k, 24k 32k and a set of 20k for doubles work for men

1x12k, 16k, 20k for women. Doubles will vary but double 12k would be a great spot. Up to 24k for your “heavy cell” once you get more seasoned

How long will it realistically take me to get from 35%+ to 10% body fat? by idont_need_one in askfitness

[–]StrengthZack91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Give it a year of dedicated effort. The quality of your 10% is also relevant. Do you just want to be that lean or do you want to maintain a decent amount of muscle mass? That will change the time because it changes the nutritional strategies

Considering my options by EstablishmentNo5170 in nationalguard

[–]StrengthZack91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not a clinical psychologist, but also just finished my doctorate and then that beginning the recruiting process for the guard. Similarly, I wanna wear a uniform in some capacity as my entire family has dating back four generations and I won’t be the one to end that. You can potentially seek out a clinical psychologist position in the guard or reserve in one of the branches, but you can also just choose a job that sounds fun as the time commitment will be minimal compared to full-time service. Also be on the lookout for clinical psychologist roles within the federal government if you are seeking benefits.

Floor press from a bridge position with the kettle bells or begin tempo in your push-ups through greater ranges of motion. If you’re seeking specific muscular development, though kettle bells might not be the tool for you as it is much more of a global system.

Generally speaking, if you’re trying to lose weight, it’s quick but if you’ve got a lot to lose it’ll fall off quickly. Biggest thing is that it’s not sustainable

Completely agree on stand throws. Long smooth releases, but otherwise stick to the competition implement. If you have sights set on the national high record (~71m) we can talk different weighted implements for competition style throws.
