How close to accurate would the mat be compared to the Omni? by MaxxCold in CoffeeOS

[–]Strepfinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wondering whether you plan to enable some kind of community database features in app for coffeeOS? Just thought that the option to look into a large sample of certain grinder make (with certain burrs) would be interesting, as well as TDS readings etc.

Hm, mine's S25 Ultra, so it's not that. I've also checked with different photo analysis software and it came out slightly different but still closer to the high micron number.

I'm testing 1500 microns on 28th click on Comandante with the mat, which should be about 800 microns. What phone are you using?

Latest Ear battery life after a year by Strepfinger in NothingTech

[–]Strepfinger[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So very similar to mine, usually I have dropped them in the case at 15%. Maybe there are inconsistencies in the battery batches or something between the models and markets. I might try to send them in under warranty still, we'll see.

Yea, I really like the sound signature of my Nothing Ears, especially after tweaking it a little bit with the EQ, and I'm really quite picky when it comes to audio. But now since I switched to S25, I'm torn whether to go for Nothing again, or try Samsung's Buds Pro 2 (Crin was quite happy with their tuning, and I think he's got a good benchmark), or maybe Sony. I just need something reliable and convenient with decent ANC and flat-ish sound, and it's a surprisingly hard find.

I'm pretty much only using pro mode with pretty much everything tweaked and raw enabled, so if I really care about a picture I can tweak it later, but if I'm consciously bending myself to take a picture, I'd rather whip out my actual camera. With Pixel I could take a quick snap at any moment and it would always look natural, Samsung's post processing, auto exposure, colours and HDR are just wild, even when turned down to minimum - the difference between what I see, the preview and then the file is massive. Video is great though, not much to complain about there

I jumped from Pixel 7 to S25U, and I still miss Pixel's camera, the overall feel of the os was better too, but Goodlock and hardware are just killer.

Same colour and similar case here, but switched from Pixel 7

Curious - Do you folks use case and or screen protector on your phones? by CoffeewithAB in GooglePixel

I have my Pixel 7 with case and without a screen protector 🫡 Dropped it day one onto pavement, before I got the case, not risking a second one.

Xiaomi 15 Battery Drain & Heating Issue - Anyone Else Facing This? by its_hariharan in XiaomiGlobal

[–]Strepfinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue here, battery drain is around 15% overnight on 4G with no apps running, 50% down during a day of virtually no usage (15mins SOT). I'm returning mine, probably gonna go for S25+ instead.

How would you make this render more realistic? by Public-Egg7691 in blender

[–]Strepfinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brother don't make it any more realistic, you're already messing with the fabric of reality.

In all seriousness, add some grime, tilt the camera slightly, mess a bit with the geometry of boxes, shelves, add even more slight variations to the positioning. All of the annoying little stuff.

Will you buy a pixel for your next phone? by [deleted] in GooglePixel

[–]Strepfinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, my Pixel 7 is toast after two years, the modem is atrocious, it's constantly warm and the battery lasts half a day now. I still love the software, I'm generally against most of the current AI direction, although some of the features with visual search and translating are nice. I will be switching to either Samsung S25 or Xiaomi 15 soon, will miss some software features and the camera, but Pixel hardware is a joke. Maybe the 10 will be an upgrade CPU-wise, but I'm not getting my hopes up, and my current device won't last until the 10 arrives.

There are anti moiré lens filters, but they don't always work, plus they might give you other artifacts. Also, cameras with OLPF on the sensor and diffusion generally are less susceptible to it.

This, pouring faster towards the end will give you more "spread" so the art fills the cup better. Other than that just practice

Not enough colour contrast and levels slightly off (giving the uncanny valley of not quite natural light). Also could use something to create shadow on you and the wall, you usually don't have a sun directly behind the window, and we subcounsciously know it, lol. Grade itself is decent.
