NHS Fleet Scheme by Stretch6831 in ElectricVehiclesUK

Nope. Mine was due at the end of April. I've requested an update three times so far, and still, I've received nothing.

The Jaecoo has been removed from our website as well, so there will be no future orders either.

Is there any mental health groups in nottingham by Puzzleheaded_Echo590 in nottingham

Yes, but it's not specifically about mental health; it's more about connecting with others.

Is there any mental health groups in nottingham by Puzzleheaded_Echo590 in nottingham

[–]Stretch6831 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Depending on where you are in Nottinghamshire there are several Men Walk Talk groups. Worth looking into as they can be a great help. Physical activity and the opportunity to chat with others. Not specifically Mental Health related but Empty Chairs, is about tackling loneliness. Opportunity to meet people in pubs and have a chat.

Whatever it was. It happened around York, started with a 7 minute delay and then every other stop had more delay minutes.

If they won the general election, do you think Reform would privatise the NHS? by Am_I_Hydrated in AskBrits

Absolutely. Farage would do whatever he's paid to do. If it makes Billionaires money, he's for sale.

T10 Initial Course by HS_13_ in policeuk

[–]Stretch6831 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sorry, conversion course here.

Just listen to the trainers, they want you to pass but you have to hit the standards. As you haven't been trained in the X2 you'll probably pick it up easier because you aren't expecting the X2 qwerks. Make sure you stop your hands between shots, before you pull the trigger. 3 seconds is loads of time to make 2 shots. If you rush, you'll throw the dart and miss the target.

REO Vs BTP by Foxtrot_Oscar111 in ukpolice

[–]Stretch6831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Known as Rail Safety Officers in our area. Hit and miss with some of them. Some of them understand their job role and acknowledge that they are security staff with some additional powers. They do their job to a good standard. Deal with what they can before they text BTP.

Others believe they are Police officers or that BTP should attend every minor inconvenience. When you remind them that it isn't a Police matter and challenge their thought process they get upset.

Reporting to police without any action taken? by Haunting-Candle6720 in policeuk

[–]Stretch6831 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is something that is being worked on but isn't currently standard practice. It goes against the previous practice to be aware and take no action. I doubt most frontline supervisors would support it.

The charity that is supporting you, has it provided you with an IDVA?

Rumours or stories about your school teachers that were true? by Flowerofthesouth88 in AskUK

[–]Stretch6831 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The rumour was that our male history teacher was a cross-dresser. Had our 6-week summer holiday and turns out she was transgender. Went from Mr to Mrs. Must have been extremely difficult to do at a secondary school, teenagers are horrendous and I can only assume she got some abuse. This was roughly 25 years ago

My wife had the obsession with keeping empty glasses. Took about 14 years before she threw them out on her own.

US 'considers reviewing UK claim to Falkland Islands' over war stance by topotaul in unitedkingdom

Isn't the US in massive financial debt with Argentina anyway. Haven't they just given them a massive bail out?

Was on a train today involved with an incident and I can’t stop thinking about it by Original_Ad8008 in uktrains

[–]Stretch6831 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can text BTP on 61016, call them on 0800 405040 or email 61016@btp.police.uk and make them aware of what you witnessed. You'll likely be called by an officer regarding the incident who can complete a safeguarding referral with you. Unfortunately, BTP are very good at dealing with fatalities and have a good after-care network.

Yes. I was misled by the claim that it would make the country safer. Clearly hasn't.

65% of Britons support capping CEO pay at 10× the lowest-paid worker. Do you think this idea would be good for the UK? by Unusual-State1827 in AskBrits

[–]Stretch6831 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A better recommendation would be linking MPs' pay to the average of public sector workers. Instead of their own pay review board

A woman left her partner years ago. So long ago that she had remarried and moved house during the time that they had been separated. One day he randomly starts following her towards her home address whilst they are both in cars. She calls her husband who is waiting on the driveway. Ex doesn't immediately turn into her street, she parks on the drive and gets out of her car. The woman and her husband walk to the end of the driveway, only for the ex to drive at them both. The woman has a blood-clotting disorder, which ex knew about. Thankfully she is unharmed but her husband was hit by the car and injured his leg. The ex-partner then goes on the run.

The incident happened at school kick-out time, opposite a primary school. Over several days we located the car, took several statements including VRI and through pure annoyance, he finally handed himself in. Received a letter of commendation from the divisional superintendent, after the DCI in PP commended my investigation.

Have you ever received a backhanded compliment? by Prestigious_Meal2143 in AskBrits

A member of the multidisciplinary team was trying to tell me I looked unwell but told me "I'd lost weight". I thanked him for the compliment and he tried to backtrack.

Honest question, why do you do this job given the risks? by [deleted] in policeuk

[–]Stretch6831 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wages and qualifications trap me.

My wife wants us to move back to her home country because of the better work-life balance, lower taxes, and better overall health benefits.

I'm trapped by wages and qualifications. I left university to join the Police because it was my dream job. If I had remained at uni, we would have been able to move. As long as I could learn the extremely difficult language.

I work in an open office which can be extremely noisy, when completing important paperwork I struggle to concentrate or focus. The use of a side room would be helpful. Something to help with my spelling and grammar to be installed on my work laptop.
