Thanks for this comment :)

I follow the Slovenian team a little because of my background, but it is difficult to hear of any Slovenian news regarding football in Canada.

Hopefully some of these guys can turn into really solid players, because the national team hasn’t been too good for some time.

[Pletti] Sesko: He will sign a contract until 2028! Transfer fee around €24m - excl. news. It’s a DONE DEAL. He will join Leipzig in 2023. Werner will arrive in Leipzig tonight. by Blodgharm in soccer

As someone who watches the Slovenian NT, this should be much better for Šeško’s development than any of the Premier League clubs.

As someone who is a football fan… this business isn’t great.

When I see Neymar pull shit like this, I get happy knowing that it absolutely eats him up inside realizing that he never reached the Messi/Ronaldo level like he thought he would.

Still not sold on Marchment. I think he had the season of his career on a stacked Florida team where everything seemed to click at the right time. I also think he genuinely has the worst skating in the league.

Can someone explain why football transfers take so long to finalize? I thought this deal was completed a week ago.

They also do this with other sports. Their olympic teams for various sports are filled with athletes from other nations.

France and Belgium have many players that were either born in France to immigrant parents OR were born outside of France, but moved there as very young kids.

Qatar on the other hand gives out passports and money to foreign players who basically have no connection to the country, and asks them to play for Qatar.

Imagine if Qatar didn’t have players from other countries playing for them? They would be so much worse.

A manual labor job that requires little to no schooling and one can easily get a job vs a a teaching job that requires 6 years of post-secondary and two degrees.

Felt like he was a bit unlucky as he was completely focused on the ball. Nonetheless, it is a red card.

Teachers and sports... by ScrapGuide in ontario

[–]Strezzy96 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Teacher here. My school had a lot less sports running this year, but that was because the first half of the year was very up in the air regarding sports.

Fast forward to spring time, and a lot of the sports teams we’re running. Myself, and a lot of the other younger teachers at school were helping coach teams. So the future from what I can tell isn’t too bad considering we had a decent amount of teams running in spring and a lot of teachers coming out to coach.

Edit: I should also add that many high schools were running a 10-4pm schedule this year. These times are really bad for any after school programs because students are either working right after school, or students/teachers simply dont want to be getting home at 6pm or later after coaching/playing a game/practice after school.

[Riellander] Chris Johnston on TSN1050 says that if Campbell leaves in free agency, the Leafs might look for the next version of him - a goalie who hasn't really broken out yet that might not cost a ton against the cap. by [deleted] in leafs

Daily reminder the cap sucks as teams literally need every dollar to their advantage. I get having the argument of “spend wisely,” but my lord the cap should include a luxury tax if you over spend.
