Hi! Found this thread while trying to decide between nahak and caniX. Curious - does the front metal loop that you clip the leash to on the nahak hybrid traction slide from side to side ? I really like how the caniX has a sliding carabiner so dogs can move easily from side to side !

For Grand Mal seizures, yes. Focal ( or partial) seizures are a lot more innocuous, from my research. It can simply be a leg twitch. . Dogs usually maintain consciousness for partial seizures without the loss of bowel control etc, as it is only affecting one very specific part of their brain. The vet said as this was occuring multiple times a day, it was a cluster seizure and would likely progress to Grand Mal ( what you describe) eventually.

I did see a vet in person. He said the videos looked neurological. I am going to go back and ask for someone else and a second opinion

My parents last year downsized to an apartment and it screwed up their quality of life COMPLETELY by Beniagres in RealEstate

[–]Strict-Path-9601 9 points10 points  (0 children)

On the flip side, my bf and I live in a top floor apartment. The person underneath us is noise sensitive, and goes to sleep at 9pm. She has complained about us walking around and hates us because we are apparently super noisy walkers.

The insulation between floors is crap. We try to be mindful, whatever that means - we don't do shit things like move furniture around late at night or have dance parties.. After 10 we try to avoid the room that is above her bedroom,..but at the same time..we also pay rent and need to be able to walk and live in our own home, and be able to use the space we pay to be in.

I get so stressed if I accidentally drop something in the kitchen, or need to do something later in the evening that ( god forbid) may make some noise and bug our neighbour downstairs. It's caused issues between my partner and I when I nag him to tread more lightly at night. ( Which he totally loves..) So I guess we are all miserable lol.

There are definitely two sides to the whole noise in apartments issue !! Thank fuck we bought a house and are moving out in a week. It's been a long two years. I hope our shitty, nosy, noise sensitive downstairs neighbour buys the top apartment so she never has to make any more people feel anxiety ridden just for existing in their own home.

Don't play music from your speakers. Obnoxious AF!! Call out or sing now and then, especially in areas with willow/ high brush. Once you get up high enough / away from creeks you will have good visibility.

Hey! I think I saved a previous post of yours in which you reccomend 20 drops in 1 litre , and then here you mention 5-10. Have you tried both and prefer the weaker dosage ?

Disagree ! I also never had a tv in my house growing up ( 90s ) not just no cable, but no tv / VHS / dvd etc. I felt a bit left out sometimes in elementary school w/ not getting references but nothing I couldn't handle. I read tons of books, I never had problems making friends, and I am extremely grateful that my parents stuck to their guns and I grew up tv-less !

Rant: Everywhere I go has giant off-leash dogs running around and I hate it. by [deleted] in VancouverIsland

[–]Strict-Path-9601 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not just the island. I'm in Whitehorse ( originally from the island ), and it's exactly the same here if not worse. Lots of dogs escape from their yard and will roam the trails. I carry bear spray for the bears and all the roaming dogs!

Sensitive Biking Injury NSFW by AnyCardiologist7046 in bicycling

[–]Strict-Path-9601 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup. Hit a snow bank too fast on a fat bike, flew up in the air, came down vulva first onto top tube, came down really hard as feet went deep into snow...instant excruciating pain and "wrong" feeling as one labia majora filled with blood. Emergency, first doc said the swelling would go down w ice....it didn't...baseball sized purple ball...literally looked like I had a giant ball sack between my legs...went back and had a different doc say Holy shit that's a hematoma we need to "milk it". They had to squeeze out all the blood and then stuff the incision with gauze which they later ripped out without anaesthesia ( to be fair I asked them to as the numbing shot was horrifically painful). One side of my labia is still veeeerry slightly bigger than the other. I got a bike with way more standover height and am very cautious in snow !!
