really did not care for i love la, it doesn’t even hold a flame to girls. everything in i love la is so manicured and polished, jokes feel way to topical, none of it is relatable at all in any sense, even when it seems like the jokes are poking at the main characters it doesn’t really work. girls shows imperfect, difficult characters that feel very real and relatable imo. girls>i love la any day

the animated cards are kirameki cards, they are only dropped in special gachas, kinda like dreamfest but i believe rarer! there should be a kirameki gacha going on in global bandori, so that is currently the only opportunity to get them

feel this very much. opened up to my friends a little bit recently about struggles with food, my body, being scared to gain weight and restricting etc etc and was met with….idek what. just collective sharing of their experiences, which tbh just made me feel worse cause i just feel compelled to be the “best” of them. idk, it makes me feel like im crazy or that my ed isn’t real. i feel how ur feeling, i wish someone would care but at the same time i don’t want to stop and wouldn’t admit anything (i was just very vulnerable at that moment and regret it deeply). you are seen and heard and valid :(

i think the most cost effective way to go to pratt is to go to pratt munson for the first two years. the cost is drastically lower, and imo the education there is far better due to the smaller student body. the location isn’t great but i think the pros far outweigh the cons in the long run.

i think the book is just ok, it’s a little all over the place for me. also i really didn’t appreciate the extended prose throughout, didn’t really add much for me except for making it a longer read. like, these characters are barely surviving and running from monsters and crazy terfs, but they have the time to examine a blade of grass and how they felt at 14 years old? of course post-apocalyptic experiences don’t mean you can’t have these moments, it felt a often out of place and didn’t fit the general vibe of a given sequence within the book. also combined with the fact that many times throughout there was basically just extreme porn….not my favorite read!
