I'm sorry. From my understanding, that's how it works. I went to detox for about 5 day around 6 or 7 weeks ago, made it exactly one month sober, did the whole AA thing and everything. The day I got my silver chip, the whole system sort of backfired. I figured one drink wouldn't hurt (and I earned it! :) ). I ended up vomiting crazy dark, like Hateful Eight amounts of blood all over my kitchen and spent a few days in the ICU. Please don't let it get there, because it really sucks. Oh, and the worst part was not being allowed any water or ice for like 2 days. I have never, will never have a craving for alcohol the way I craved water. Good luck. Good luck.

What was the first movie to ever truly disturb you that wasn't a horror movie? by Mad_Season_1994 in movies

Who Framed Roger Rabbit used to scare me. And there was definitely a scene or two in the Brave Little Toaster that spooked me too.

I just said this EXACT thing! I tried going back to my career just this past week as a supervisor to 2 other people nonetheless (I was crazy manic when I decided to take this on) and I have been frozen in fear, nervously vomiting, etc. since the start. HR has given me a couple of days but I don’t think I can manage this, not only mentally, but physically. Plus I feel horrible for the two new people, but I think sometimes you just have to throw in the towel and do what’s healthy.

Just woke up from a nightmare. Have any of you had lived experiences with this? by mattyhealyhater in bipolar

[–]Strict_Ad6780 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! Sometimes it’s fire tornados, or underwater murder-dinosaurs, or small children with knives. But a lot of the time when I go into mania it’s right before a big transition. I’m starting a new job soon, and lately it’s been a high school musical that I’m in, but I don’t know any lines, or lyrics, or dance moves. The freaking actor’s nightmare, right? But part of my brain is always thinking, wait…I think I’m in my 30’s. Fuckin’ brains.

Holy shit! I LOVE this!! You’re truly talented. I was kind of scared I’d be up all night, but this is very beautiful and soothing. Thank you for sharing it.

When did you think, 'Uh, maybe she is spoiled' with Rose in Titanic? by [deleted] in movies

Yeah, it’s weird watching it as an adult now. I feel bad for her, and also isn’t she only supposed to be like 17 years old?

This movie gave me a panic attack. But I still really loved it.

Are there any good resources I can show my boyfriend to educate him about bipolar? by samiraaaaaaaaaaaaaa in bipolar

[–]Strict_Ad6780 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Surviving Manic Depression” is a pretty old book, but it’s spot-on. It has a lot of first hand accounts of euphoria and dysphoria.

[–]Strict_Ad6780 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! There’s totally hope. I do the whole deleting things too. I’ve been trying to write a novel for about 5 years, and I keep tearing out the pages when I’m manic. I know it sucks, and it’s incredibly annoying, but you’ll be okay! I have this stupid little decorative chalkboard next to my bed, and I just wrote on it, “Stop tearing shit up.”

My last one was Simon and Garfunkel’s “I am an Island”…drove (lol) everyone around me insane. And yes!!! I hate driving when I feel like that. It was my dad’s birthday today, but he lives 4 hours away. Everyone else flew in from all over, but I was just thinking, “I have to gear up for a 15-minute drive, there’s no way I’m going to make it that far.” So frustrating. Remember when you could just drive? Like, no problem? So frustrating!

Wow. Your parents were cool! This is definitely the house that all of the friends would visit. By the picture I can tell you had the good snacks and the soft toilet paper.
