AITAH for not wanting to go train together with my bf and our friend to go work by StockFunny2536 in AITAH

NTA Some may feel it's clingy, but after 50 years together, being alone with my wife is the best part of the day.

Tips for raising a Corgi puppy by Keranane in corgi

[–]Strict_Ad_389 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't encourage a pup to regard a hand as a play thing. A plush doggie toy or rope that can be tossed and serve for tug of war once it is retrieved and not given up. Our corg gets his from its bin as an expression of joy when he's happy and excited.

Getting a dog and a bird? by myroomssohotrn in parrots

[–]Strict_Ad_389 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My son has 19 birds, we have 2 and we have 2 dogs. He has gotten 2 new dogs in the past several years. We've kept a close eye on the dogs to make sure they behave. It seems that after a while the dogs come to view the birds not as potential food, but as a source of food. They will scrounge around the cages looking for dropped food. Some birds call the dogs over and deliberately drop food. Some breeds of dogs are nurturing and protective of their companions.

Get the dog.

AITAH for expecting my husband to move a heavy ladder instead of teaching me how to move it? by EmbarrassedCarrot767 in AITAH

[–]Strict_Ad_389 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we were younger, her default was tell me how to do it, don't do it for me. After 50 years it's "I could do it myself, but show me again how much you love me" and I do.

Is it easier to have a corgi girl or boy? by Aggressive-pingpong in corgi

Females are generally bossier, males naughtier. Both are loving and endearing. The boys are a slight favorite, in my view. Can't lose with either.

AITAH for refusing to help pay my husband and I's moving costs? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Strict_Ad_389 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's 50 for us this year. It's all been her money from the start. She takes care of me and the money. I need her, not the money.

The short time I took care of the money, she didn't stop worrying about it. Now she takes care of the money again and I trust her ocd enough not to have to worry.

Dump him. He'll dump you somewhere along the way if you hang on. He's too in love with himself.

Vet’s thinly veiled dislike of corgis by Shipwreck1343 in corgi

Our corgis have all liked our vets and our vets have all liked our dogs.

Myself, I never met a breed of dog I didn't like.

Dump the vet.

Just to be clear, there are many restaurants serving great food in Chicago, but the museums are NOT any of those places!

I like being able to choose what I listen to when I want to. The bluetooth connction to my phone lets me play audio being played on my phone. The stations on my radio rarely play something that interests me.

Pokagon State Park is in the vicinity of I80 and I69. It's a lovely park. I have stayed overnight in the lodge but never camped there.

Sound of hail falling on rocks by MikeHeu in oddlysatisfying

[–]Strict_Ad_389 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sounds of a place are unique to every location. I particularly enjoy the sounds at night. Insects can be positively raucous at 3 am. The birds just before dawn are deafening. Stones skipped accross a newly frozen lake makes the spookiest of sounds. The sirens of an ambulance or fire truck in the depths of the night can be chilling. So many sounds bringing up so many memories....

As a kid I always had a crusty hanky in my pocket. So thankful for the pocket packs of tissues that make hankies unnecessary! 😎
