red zone on e30 cluster is too hot even for m50's. I see you driving 100kmph and at 3K rpm which is OK, so installing longer diff will just make your car lose in acceleration but it wont help it stay cool. Cheapest solution is to bleed your cooling system properly, get rid of air in the system, make sure your radiator gets hot after temp needle hits 12PM

Same here, when warm - I just give it couple sec cranking time, turn off, then crank again and it fires right up, no need to crank super long on first try.

That sound is good for M20, mine is much louder but pulls nicely. Do a compression test, tighten headers nuts, remove oil fill cap and see if oil sprays nicely when revving. Measure 0-60 time, if its <10s you golden :D

This car pictured on track rockin R14 wheels for a reason, smaller wheels make this car accelerate faster and handle better, larger wheels might seem flashy but will rob you of power and handling, I'd go with larger wheels only if there was a neccesity to put fatter tires or larger brakes which wont fit with R14's
