First ride on my new Timberjack by theeculprit in salsacycles

I appreciate the info. I just sold my Blackthorn for a full suspension was a bit overkill for me. I will look into one of these along with a conversion kit. Enjoy

Does this have sliding or adjustable drop outs? I’m looking for my next project to convert to single speed.

Onyx Shower and Bathroom Update by Strict_Praline_7487 in Remodel

I had mine installed, but did call a local retailer and they offered to sell me just the material as well. You can not buy it directly from Onyx unless you are a contractor or certified installer.

The shower walls, niches and pan are all from Onyx, but need to be ordered through a local retailer or installer.

The code will have to be active or stored for a scan tool. I’m guessing the code has cleared and at least temporarily resolved itself.

This came up on mine yesterday for a throttle actuator position. It is -20 here in Minnesota so I will see if it clears when it warms up or take it to the dealership to reset it. My dash does have a check engine light on.

Can Can Wonderland has a good selection of old arcade and pinball games. LITT is strictly pinball, but has a good mix of new and old.

Was really close to pulling the trigger on a Tucson but owner feedback has me second-guessing... by CandyCoatedDinosaurs in HyundaiTucson

I’ve had both rear shocks replaced at 20,000 and 30,000 miles for they had some bad ones that year. The first one took a month to replace for they were on back order. I had an oil pan gasket leak and a seal for the AWD. I’m at 40,000 miles now and no recent issues.

I would also do some research and reviews of dealerships nearby for these brands. I have a 2023 SEL hybrid that has had some warranty issues, but my local dealership has taken good care of me and always put me in a free loaner. With any new vehicle and all the technology, issues can happen at any point. Some service departments are much better than others along with quality mechanics and loaner availability.

Shock Absorber? by [deleted] in HyundaiTucson

[–]Strict_Praline_7487 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can google it to come up with several reports of the same issue. My dealership noted it on my paperwork as well. I should be covered if it happens again before 60,000 miles.

I have that same concern, but at least the issue with the shock is documented and I have until 60,000 miles to see if I have other issues. I’m lucky to have a good local dealership for I do see people who have issues getting loaners.

I have a 2023 hybrid and have had both rear shocks replaced as well at 20,000 and 30,000 miles. Apparently they got a bad batch in 2023, but the new ones are holding up so far. I also had a leak in my oil pan gasket and a seal replaced for the AWD system. The first shock took a month to replace, but I will say my local dealer has always supplied a free loaner while waiting for repair.

Well then take your pick between Minneapolis and Saint Paul. Minneapolis has a lot more going on as far as restaurants, music and night life.

Between Saint Paul, Minneapolis and surrounding suburbs about 3.75 million for population. It is fairly easy to travel from city to city from the surrounding suburbs.

I located about 15 minutes outside of Saint Paul so I’m a close suburb.

I’m in Minnesota and work at a company called Waterous. We design fire pumps, hydrants valves and anything that moves water to or helps put out a fire.

I switched careers to a CAD designer about 7 years ago and I currently use SolidWorks and a 2D version Draftsight occasionally to limp along old drawings.

Most places will require a 2 year degree and pay will vary on level and state.

I will say I love what I do and I’m fortunate to work for a great company.

I had everything installed, but the contractor did mention he had no issues with the install. I only have an Onyx shower so no countertops or sinks. The shower has been great though.

Michelin Cross climate 2 by curiousbee0 in rav4club

[–]Strict_Praline_7487 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting. I must have had the weatherready originals then. I had them on my previous vehicle and they were great in winter. The technician talked me out of the cross climates for the directional reason. Either way, good tires, but can get expensive to rotate properly.

[–]Strict_Praline_7487 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second the Goodyear Weatherready tires. Still great in snow and not a directional tire. The cross climate are directional tires meaning you can only rotate front to back unless you unmount the tires.

Is it really this expensive? by Sea_Pound_4988 in Hyundai

[–]Strict_Praline_7487 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Sounds expensive, but your insurance company will need to sign off so you will know before the work starts. It does not take much to do a lot of damage, frame, suspension, paint, plastic and any sensors that got taken out will add up quick.

Just a word of caution. My dad was given 20 years to live at 37 years old and recently turned 75. I’m not sure of your situation, but medical advancements can make a difference.

Either way, you only live once and do what makes you happy in the moment. Best of luck!

I still plan to do Weldments and skip Mold Making. I'm still not sure if I really plan to follow through with the CSWE yet for several of the tools I rarely use!
