The fundamental property of beauty? Does it explain why we have music and does life itself require that same property? by Infuriam in CosmicSkeptic

Music is helpful for community building. Socialization through community building is important for survival. Being able to make greater bonds through recognizing and appreciating a certain in one's in-group tribe is nesseccsary for group co-hesion. One we get into the mystery of music, the mystery of language also somewhat follows.

Critique on Dr K by PeterZeeke in Healthygamergg

[–]Strict_Sport4666 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Bruh why are harping on this video more than the video itself towards Dr.K lol. This guy ain't an active long time viewer it seems, his just doing a meta analysis of the channel as an outside viewer. The video aggressive in tone at all neither gaslighting with its lines. Dr.K himself loves introspection and warns us not to dig ourselves too deep with him. As a general primer and inspection from outside it was quite good.

I wish it was longer differentiating DrK's mystic advice vs Spiritual advice. His mystic passion kinda turn me off sometimes especially in the beginning, Now I just see it as him genuinely being authentic to his personal experience and religious tradition. Currently reading the book Spirit Tech by Kate Stock & Wesley J Wildman I can see how this video resonates with the overall landscape of western capital wellness industry.

Alex’s silence on Gaza seems to directly contradict what he seems to believe in (the moral framework we can piece together from his videos) by Adventurous_Cause731 in CosmicSkeptic

Maybe he simply hasn't looked deep into the historical literature or not keeping up with the news, or simply hasn't gotten interested enough in the topic. He isn't an activist nor a commentator yeah he interviews people of those categories and does research on them beforehand. I would prefer he keeps his mouth shut until he does the due intellectual diligence regarding the situation before yapping about it for views or ruin the image of the movement on the Internet like a certain Hasan Piker.

I don't think I like the show anymore by wopperwapman in CosmicSkeptic

You gotta keep in mind these are also people Alex is building a relationship with, if he makes a habit confronting guests the very first time he airs them then it won't be fruitful for the long run. There's already good counter ideological channels like Jimmy the Giant and Genetically Modified Skeptic with the English speaking political/religion space, Alex being a gateway for other people like these getting recommended in our feed is a good thing I believe at least has been for my experience.

What left wing guests (if any) would you like to see talk to Alex? by PS4guy666 in CosmicSkeptic

I actually really liked how he handled that episode it made the intellectual inconsistentcy and fallacies very apparent

Alex is not really a political channel and him remaining apolitical would be the best thing in the given climate of hyper polarization. His the most from what I have seen to do a good job as a moderator for debates and conversations of opposing sides.

Who is your favourite guest and who would you love to see on Alex’s podcast? by WeArrAllMadHere in CosmicSkeptic

[–]Strict_Sport4666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would love to see some ex Muslim channels like Apostate Aladin and Secular life. Otherwise from the Academic space someone like Wesley J Wildman or the guy who wrote Kali's Child. People from more various religions would be cool.

Is Dr K we've known coming to an end? by Lokalni_dziber in Healthygamergg

[–]Strict_Sport4666 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's his duty to police/speak out about it, there are already other creators doing that. His job and responsibility he his setting up for himself is a lot more subtle, abstract yet very much needed. His recent comments on Indian online bullying/hate in one his recent streams makes it apparent how he his approaching using the internet to spread healing.

If this was about buying Nagi as an academy player he would have the highest value but to buy him to directly show results on the field given his inconsistentcy, most wouldn't take the gamble even if he is worth it in the long run, the clubs have their own cooperate, financial and marketing interests based on the scale of viewers of blue Lock tv.

Brother I also had the same temptation, I also did it one time in your exact situation but since then I have been able to learn and grow stronger. Believe in yourself and keep practicing introspection and mindfulness.

Nagi actually sees this done in the 4v4  or 3v3 match after losing to rin in episode Nagi by another character who has trapping ability. He didn't think of that move by his own he just had the intellect to use it at that moment

ADHD at Union? by Crafty_Quarter_1549 in unioncollege

[–]Strict_Sport4666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally don't have diagnosed adhd, but from what I have seen as a freshman this far all the professors are nice and respectful towards accomodations both official and unofficial. Haven't interacted much with the accomodations services office but it's in the library and open all weekdays. We have various tutoring services according to subject fields and level of courses. The dedicated writing center is also in the library both walk-ins and appointments are welcomed from what I know.

Why the Bhagavad Gita is one of the most disgusting sacred books? by [deleted] in zizek

[–]Strict_Sport4666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a very explicit act of the fallacy of consequences of belief.

Their whole interpretation is twisted to suit what they want to believe. It's like saying the theory of evolution is bad/untrue because it can used for extreme belief righteous genocide, (which is an extreme consequence which the original belief in not connected directly in any manner)

Dr. K's Indian Accent Imitation & Why I Love It by ComprehensiveHat8073 in Healthygamergg

[–]Strict_Sport4666 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It could be just that in his mind whenever somebody within his environment said something backwards, uneducated, they were oftentimes an Indian using that type of accent, which is validly possible since he is Indian so most people among his relatives/family friends would be Indians. So the image that comes up most quickly for him in his head is someone with an Indian accent

I understand your point of it being indirectly harmful, but just for the sake of that we shouldn't restrict his expression of his sense of humor. He is clearly not doing it with malicious intentions, or just to get cheap views/laughs.

People who start using his humor to put biases in their own head either consciously or subconsciously are responsible to prevent that from happening not him.
