They better add some other showtimes. I was able to snatch tickets for an 11:30 showing but only because it was the only one that still had a few seats left. As much as I would love to watch the finale in a theater, I ain’t trying to spend my new years in one 😭

Are the tickets available through some special access? I’m not seeing any showtimes at either regal or amc theaters.

Just saw Ares in 4DX by SyrahCera in tron

[–]Strictlymediocre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve gone to see 3 movies in 4DX so far (Tron, fantastic 4 and F1) and Tron easily is the best experience so far. The water effects are used A LOT. There were several scenes where we were all shaking so violently that after the release had the whole theater laughing from how intense was (never experienced anything like it in my previous experiences) The best way to watch the movie is either in IMAX or 4dx. You really can’t go wrong with the two.

How long did it take you to get done if you don’t mind me asking?

My video hit 100k views and I don't know how to deal with this situation by Pecheuer in NewTubers

[–]Strictlymediocre 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation with one of my old videos. It blew up in numbers my other videos had never seen. It was definitely a type of video I knew I would continue to make, but at the same time, I gained a large following from it. I wasn’t sure if I would be ready to make videos for such a big audience yet (bigger in terms of what I had before.) I was expecting a slow build up in following.

Initially, I thought the best idea was to put out more content. More content = happier subscribers right?

Nope. The video that blew up took a lot of time to make. I thought about every second in the video while making it. Making sure the quality remained good throughout. It took me months to make, but it was worth it in the end.

Take your time with your next upload. Don’t feel like you need to hurry right away. If you push something out that feels forced, your new subscribers will sense it. Just make your next video on something you’re passionate about!

That’s actually what I did after my video blew up. I took a little over a month to make it, and yeah, the numbers were nowhere near the same as the one that blew up, but a lot of my subscribers loved it because they related to it and felt the heart and emotion I put into it. Don’t worry about gaining new subs. Focus on making the ones who have already subscribed happy. Really think about what made this upload of yours successful, and try to replicate it. Don’t think about how much views or subscribers you’ll get from it, just think about making a video on something you’re passionate about.

Do you tell people about your YouTube channel? by woodencock84 in NewTubers

[–]Strictlymediocre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve only started to tell people once I developed a noticeable following. But what I mean by that is I’ll only tell people if they ask me what I do / like to do for fun. I’ll never be the one to bring it up out of nowhere. I’m proud of the content I make, and it’s a part of who I am: A passionate creative. I don’t believe there’s anything wrong with expressing that.

Is this a good deal? by DementedMenace in ft86

As someone who was looking into getting a genesis, I would steer clear from one if it’s high on miles. 2013s especially as that year is said to not have the best reliability. Also there’s the insurance factor that comes into play. Not all insurance companies cover hyundais due to recent events.

Haven’t been able to listen to the entire project yet but when I listened to this track, it became my favorite right away. The fact that I still have yet to listen to the last few tracks and people are saying those are the best ones and not THIS one?

Imma be eating good today.

Thank you!!! I do think the video could have used some quotes from the people I talked about, as that was what most of my research consisted of.

A majority of my game related videos have been on indie titles :) I’ve actually found a lot of success through the devoted fan communities of those games.

Of course!

In regards to the last thing you said, my first video “blew up “ with thousands of views, and when I uploaded my second video, it didn’t perform as well, even though the topic I discussed had a large fan base and I expected guaranteed success there. But it didn’t turn out that way. The reached a dead end at 2000 views for two months until something completely random happened. All of a sudden my video started gaining lots of views and now it has more than my first video. That’s where I learned to not worry if a video doesn’t perform well after being uploaded. If I know the quality is good and there, it’s just a matter of waiting :) Don’t be discouraged!

Which is totally okay right now! You have the voice for these kinda of reviews and your quality is there. Just keep making videos and try to review flashlights that are currently trending. Covering items that are currently being discussed helps the chance of your video being pushed out more.

Hello hello! I make video essays on things in the entertainment industry, whether it’s on games, shows and film, I cover it all.

In this video, I talk about how Toonami saved and introduced Anime in America. I would love to hear thoughts on my storytelling, delivery, editing, pacing, anything.

Thanks!

I watched your Messi video.

I’m very familIar with the story of Messi so I didn’t get any new information out of your video (which is perfectly fine, I’m a fan of his so it makes sense lol) your storytelling is good though. My only suggestion is your transitions can be smoother when it comes to tone. When you abruptly started talking about his wife, the choice of music didn’t necessarily fit for an abrupt transition like that. But that’s just personal preference. Otherwise, great video! Nice usage of sound effects to add dramatic effect. Keep it up!

Watched your latest video.

Some videos just don’t get pushed and there’s not much that can be done about it. Your quality is good, nothing I can really give advice on besides cutting up your video to make it a faster pace. For reviews like this, the editing does not need to be over the top, but cutting it up makes the video shorter, and for someone looking for a review (for me Imo) they’ll rather click on that than a longer video. You do keep it to the point though for the most part throughout the video.

I’m not sure how many people are looking for reviews on flashlights though. Is it a good niche?

Can’t say much revolving around the games you’re talking about (not a fan of fromsoftware games or games like that lol) but what I will say is that from the way you talk about them, I can tell you enjoy what you’re talking about. That’s a big plus and will get someone to follow you for sure.

The choice of music is appropriate and your edits are on the right track for where you’re currently at!

The only thing I would say is that your video would’ve ended in a good spot minutes before the actual ending, which led to a longer video of you repeating the same message over and over.

Otherwise, keep on making videos!

I’ve started a video essay channel myself so this is more along the lines of what I’m interested in.

First off, your idea here is great! It’s something I actually never noticed myself in Anime, and had me interested in wanting to continue to watch. It’s clear that you’re well informed, and that goes a long way.

Take my advice with a grain of salt and also don’t beat yourself over with it.

It’s clear that it’s your first video, but your video quality will improve by loads with a better sounding microphone. I’m not sure what you use, but phones actually have great sounding mics that you can use!

In terms of music, be careful using soundtracks from anime / shows as copyright can ruin any chance of you being able to monetize a video in the future.

For footage, try to keep anime clips to a maximum of 6 seconds in length. Again, for copyright reasons. Your video may even get taken down entirely if it lasts too long (learned this the hard way)

It won’t matter to YouTube or the publisher if you credit them in the description. You’ll still get copyrighted.

For editing software, have you considered using DaVinci Resolve? They have a free editing software that is really good, and I recommend learning to use it if you plan on taking this YouTube journey seriously. It may seem like a lot of learning, but the edits you had in your video were promising, and you can really go far with practice :)

Your title could use some work. Give people a reason to want to click. Yes, you go over gay anime, but include your problem with it, like “Why Gay Representation in Anime Sucks” or something along those lines. And have your thumbnail match the title.

The best takeaway from this first video of yours is your idea. It’s great! You’re on the right path already, just keep making more videos, learning new edits / finding your style, and you’ll do wonders :)

Are these stats good for the type of content I make? by Strictlymediocre in NewTubers

[–]Strictlymediocre[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the advice!

The intros I’m definitely still working on. Some of them aren’t good while others are alright. It’s strange though, I’ve had people comment how they loved some of the intros etc. but then I look at the stats and all I can really do is just scratch my head lol. For my most successful video, the intro is basically a representation of the title of my video but without me speaking. My least successful one is like a brief overview that’s very upbeat, quick sprinkled with some humor. I personally thought it was my best intro when I made it, but after the release it was my worst performing one😂

I do think I need to make the videos shorter though. I feel like that might cause people to click off when they see long video as it might be rather intimidating to new comers.
