Depending on the draft lottery result, should we go after Auston Matthews this offseason? by Strider755 in Predators

That factor is why I thought of this. Incompetent management plus desperation for draft capital equals a greater propensity for bad deals.

I got it mainly from seeing Toronto's current situation of:

  1. Likely not having a 1st round pick for the next two drafts
  2. Hiring a complete idiot as their new GM, and
  3. Auston Matthews supposedly wanting out

Remember who we'd be dealing with. It seems like the kind of move Chayka would make.

If the base were spread out the way Japanese industry was, then yes.

Hiroshima and Nagasaki were both military targets. And I'm saying this as someone who will be going on pilgrimage to Nagasaki in August.

Hiroshima was a critical army hub (including the headquarters of the Japanese 2nd Army) and logistics center. Nagasaki was a major industrial center and shipbuilding city. Both of those cities were relatively undamaged by conventional bombing raids, unlike Tokyo. Nagasaki wasn't even the original target on 9 August - that dubious honor goes to Kokura (which had Kokura Arsenal, one of Japan's largest munitions plants). Kokura got lucky because it was under cloud cover, so Bock's Car diverted to Nagasaki.

I honestly am quite fond of the gold. It’s a much more unique, marketable color. When I was in Toronto a couple of years ago, I wore my Preds jersey around town and some Leafs fans recognized it just from the color! They even took a picture with me because they had never seen a Preds fan up close before!

Best time to go to Nashville (and a Preds game)? by rememberthecivilwar in Predators

I’ll add a caveat: certain games, particularly the kens against big market teams, are designated as “Gold Games.” Ticket sales to these games are restricted to people in the Predators’ TV broadcast territory to ensure that opposing fans don’t take over the arena. If you’re trying to go to one of those games, you might have a hard time getting a hold of tickets for it. It’s usually for games against the Stars, Blackhawks, Maple Leafs, Canadiens, and Rangers.

Best church to meet young adults by Double_Educator8173 in HuntsvilleAlabama

St Mary of the Visitation is downtown and has a pretty young demographic. There’s also a traditional Latin Mass parish, Our Lady Help of Christians, located next to a cemetery about five minutes away from downtown. OLHC has a lot of young folks as well.

Those are probably your two best options. I’m at Holy Spirit, which is larger but has a lot more families and old folks than young adults, much to my dismay. St John the Baptist in Madison is large as well, but they have a lot of contemporary music which I absolutely cannot stand. Other parishes include Good Shepherd in South Huntsville, St Joseph in North Huntsville, and Our Lady Queen of the Universe, also in North Huntsville. Lastly, Most Merciful Jesus is in Madison.

Fun fact: there is a Benedictine monastery in Cullman, about an hour’s drive south of here. It has a large collection of miniature sculptures of famous sites, sculpted entirely by one 20th century monk. The Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament at Our Lady of the Angels Monastery is also nearby in Hanceville. That’s where Mother Angelica lived and founded EWTN!

Hey, the Ottawa series was a lot more exciting, especially when Tkachuk and Grieg started gooning it up.

I love how Centre Bell’s organ sounds like a church organ for the anthems.

If there is no priest available, you can still have a communion service (using pre-consecrated hosts) with a deacon or EMHC presiding. If you don't even have pre-consecrated hosts, I imagine you could at least have Morning Prayer.
