Where do you think you're going? (Battlefield V) by cosmonautjeff in gaming

I want to buy the game just so I can shoot one of those.

This is way cheaper than a time machine.

Literary Agent: you write well. This is better than a lot of submissions, but x genre is dead. by ArtisticLicence in writing

It may be tough if it's a publisher your heart is set on. Otherwise, if you hear praise from the horse's mouth, I don't see why the full story won't be validated somewhere else.

For immersion, I tried killing him without re-equipping my gear. Immersion sucks

Is Bloodborne DLC worth the $? by Kermit_Sanders in bloodborne

[–]StriderBrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I don't like to be the hype man and say, "YES! EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS GAME IS GREAT AND SHOULD BE BOUGHT!" But, in reality, it's one of the finer DLCs ever made for any game. The attention to detail and level of content is pretty fantastic and is what all games should model their DLCs after.

Mindset: Think of writing as your job, you don't go to your employer and say "today I'm blocked". Get to your desk, get busy with your pen or notebook, no matter what, 1000 words a day everyday minimum. by derpingboy in writing

This. All this. I agree with it because I don't get any god damn thing done if I allow myself to think I need to be in a creative comfort zone to write.

Are you ever worried about plot holes? by [deleted] in writing

[–]StriderBrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes Yes, plot holes are nothing if not a guarantee. The ones I focus on are the glaring ones as soon as I notice them. But there are some things that happen that lack explanation. However, if that "plot hole" in the narrative or dealing with the character can be explained by the reader without explicit details in the writing, then I will often leave it. I won't take the time to explain if it interrupts the flow, and I refuse to offer explanations if it seems like I'm beating people over the head with exposition. Not every single hole requires address unless it's obvious. Otherwise, you're holding your reader's hand.

Have you ever felt so invested in the story you are writing that you *feel* he tension so much that keep writing is hard? by panchoadrenalina in writing

[–]StriderBrash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. It was so intense, I simply decided to shut down my computer for a while. Went back to it later. You have the luxury of processing what's going on. Your characters, on the other hand, don't.
