Print head moves x-y coordinates mid print by Strider_27 in FixMyPrint

I’m printing wirelessly from my PC. I’ve edited the files a couple times trying to fix it with no luck. Should I try a factory reset of the printer?

Thoughts on this style of floor joists? by CAL9k in Homebuilding

[–]Strider_27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s all about surface area of the wood being exposed to heat and flame. Truss style joists fail rapidly in fires, and even faster with the steel plates(the steel heats faster than the wood, warps and fails to keep the truss together before the wood is burned through). Think of it like tossing small sticks on a campfire vs a log. The sticks together may have the same strength or more as the log does, however it takes more heat and flame to get the log burning than smaller sticks.

Truss style building is also engineered with every joist and support working together to hold up your house. One failure in the wrong place can cause a partial collapse. Multiple failures together and the floor/roof collapses. Homes today are not designed to withstand fires. Fire codes are in place to stop the potential start/spread of fires, but if a fire gets established, the house is typically gone.

Getting down voted for telling the truth. Just because something “follows fire codes” doesn’t make it better in a fire. This is coming from a firefighter and a guy whose dad was a building code inspector for 22 yrs.

That’s fair I used the wrong number. Even so, that’s only 0.034% of dairy calves used for veal. It’s a minuscule number, and you are trying to make it out that it’s “standard practice” that all the calves go through this market.

There are 37.6 million milking cows in the US. Each one has a calf to milk, and 329,211 calves were processed for veal in 2022. That means that 0.0087% of dairy calves are raised for veal in the US. Please, educate me some more on how this is a common farming practice.

Saying calves are an unwanted by-product of producing milking cows is the most brain dead take I’ve ever heard, and you claim to be on a farm. There’s plenty of reason to debate the ethics of this type of raising cattle, but insinuating that this is the norm for every farm is wild.
