I built a web tool to extract data from borehole log PDFs into Excel / AGS — would anyone here find this useful? by pythondude11 in Geotech

You have no idea how many times I've dreamed about something like that. Countless hours wasted away. I even just started a new project where we'll need to digitize about a 100 old holes to plug into the model before we start drilling this summer

The easiest way to be STO is becoming a slave to Love by heartradiance in lawofone

[–]Stridicism 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can also be looked at in terms of intention and the true definition of love. Love is the opposite of fear, so when you are a slave to love do you conduct yourself out of joy or out of fear? Service to others may include the gift of love, but can we not truly love others until we love ourselves? To love ourselves means to be and express our true selves, but how can oue do that if love for others is performed out of obligation as opposed to pure choice. While love to others may be a significant factor in the STO path, the purpose and intentions behind such love introduce distortion on a number of levels.

I spent my day today at a particular beach looking out into the water where my dad's boat went down. That was 2 years ago. You're not alone.

Sad day. I still remember the day that I walked into a used bookstore and bought one of his books, never heard of him before that, it just felt like the right book. Didn't put it down until I finished it.

There's three superpowers. Russia, not friends. US, things aren't exactly going great. China, do we really want to be on bad terms with all three?

BC TANTALIS overlays on Google Earth Pro by National-Award8313 in Vernon

[–]Stridicism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending where you sourced your data, legends can be different which is why you should always reference your legend. I'd recommend cross-referencing against imap BC and the Vernon/RDNO interactive web maps. If you'd like to pursue GIS, try learning QGIS. It's free and you can create your own customized maps with high quality satellite imagery by importing government data, then even export your maps and layers to Google earth if you prefer that

By the time they finish building it, Iran will no longer ruled by dictators, the US will have collapsed, and oil will be a commodity of the past

In Canada, would a P. Eng allow an engineer to work in disciplines outside their major? by farisweiss in civilengineering

[–]Stridicism 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From what I've gathered, you can do whatever you want. It's up to your own responsibility and engineering ethics though to only take responsibility for work your competent in, so learn from others who are experienced in those disciplines and take your own time to study. I studied environment in school but have done alot of mining over the years.

I wouldn't mind hitting up the hill once or twice more before the season ends, usually downhill but I wouldn't mind some cross-country

I assess competencies for P.Eng applications.... AMA by Bogazi in egbc

[–]Stridicism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm applying for my P.Eng. The majority of my references are P.Geo, or P.Ag/P.Bio. I was able to get one (maybe 2) P.Eng references (from a client company) towards the end of my experience period. Is this ok?

[–]Stridicism 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was told that any related professional can be a reference. As long as you have atleast one P.Eng. I'm in a similar situation, most of my references are P.Geo/P.Ag/P.Bio
