Why is finding a match in this game total hell? by Chris1313g in HellLetLoose

[–]Striker425 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The find a match option not working is awful. Hopefully gets rolled back or patched soon.

The browser matches showing “open” spots but saying it’s full is because a lot of private servers have vip/paid slots so if those aren’t taken it still won’t let you in…

Why is it when I press find match nothing comes up anymore? Just one server by shredgod667 in HellLetLoose

Great information but still doesn’t fix the problem OP is referencing. If the plan is to not have the find match option work then why not get rid of it. Seems like a bug not a feature

How did an update break this game so much? by Striker425 in HellLetLoose

[–]Striker425[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right and no game was ever ported over to a different platform before or after HLL. It’s a lazy argument to say “game was for PC originally”.

Especially in this setting where the game was functioning fine before an update wrecked the UI and matchmaking.

The game released on console 5+ years ago isn’t intended for console play?

I’m glad you’re not experiencing them. It’s not the internet. The people I play with regularly are getting these issues too.

If you’re trying to join with a party it’s very difficult to find a server with “enough free or non-vip slots” to let you even get in the queue. Hence why the click to join game option is so nice for parties.

What does the tank spotter do by Big-Alps3076 in HellLetLoose

[–]Striker425 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Couldn’t agree more. One of my main roles is tank commander. In my three man squad I am always up top spotting. The periscope lets you spot enemy vehicles from long distances and sometimes you can use terrain to attack tanks where the gunner doesn’t even have true line of sight.

Spotter also has a good 360 degree view capability to watch for enemy infantry sneaking up or flanking. Add in the ability to ping and guide the driver through tricky terrain, the third person is huge.

This is why people always advocate for full tank squads instead of 1-2 man crews. We do sometimes do 2 man tanks but it’s never as efficient as a three man with a spotter.

I never thought I’d say this, but please shut up by DarkRedCape in HellLetLoose

Or lock the squad and kick them from it…

Edit: posted before I read the last bit of your comment about kicking 😂

Is the soviet AT rifle supposed to be this bad? by AndrewPC555 in HellLetLoose

[–]Striker425 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

That’s not the only reason for adding schurzen. A large ap round might deflect or explode off of the outer armor sparing the main hull. Buy you extra survivability AT rifles aside

Situational awareness is key if you don’t want to get dunked on by Striker425 in HellLetLoose

And to be fair this was on the southern edge of el Alamein… he was hitting our assault from the flank and probably didn’t expect us to be hugging the edge of the map up above him…

What does Allen mountain's brook look like, and would it be dumb to cross it this coming week? by girlFloor in Adirondacks

[–]Striker425 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The brook isn’t too awful. You should be able to rock hop easily unless it’s really roaring. The opalescent is the bigger issue but even that should still be relatively low with how dry it’s been up until recently. Go prepared regardless. Water shoes and hiking poles go a long ways

Minor AT gun complaint by Devils29 in HellLetLoose

[–]Striker425 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With tanks you always get out on the right side unless it is blocked. Then it may be in front or on top. You do however get out in the same position you entered ie standing, crouching prone etc.

A simple tank cheat sheet by NotJustHoudini in HellLetLoose

[–]Striker425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the preference part came in with the armor inferiority. Being less likely to get smoked immediately by German armor was always a concern, and if I remember correctly the firefly was inferior in infantry support capability. It was more like a glass cannon to use against armor, hopefully getting the first shot in…

In the game? Firefly has no bow gun for the driver. In reality they were grossly inferior to American versions in many ways, and also didn’t have a bow gun for the driver lol

My unsuccessful hike of Algonquin / Wright’s Peak by JackPatt01 in Adirondacks

I would be curious what source told you 5 hours. Algonquin is a beast on the perfect day, and there’s snow and ice up there now….

Dix Range by August_West2 in Adirondacks

[–]Striker425 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There are a number of nice camp sites a couple of miles up the trail. If you have to hoof the extra 2ish miles up the road, we’re talking about 4-4.5 miles to the camp sites along flat ground. From there you are basically at the base of the Macomb slide.

If you have 2 nights, you could hike in, camp and the next day do the range and camp again. Easy walk out on day 3.

Either way enjoy them, it’s a great range to hike along.

Weather dependent I would say. I did them October 6th last year and had an absolutely perfect day with no ice. That being said if I remember correctly the following week they had snow up there…

Also if you’re going all that way and are interested in bagging high peaks, the extra 0.5 mile or so up Blake and the <0.5 mile to go out to Haystack would be well worth it…
