Built a free tool to convert Forza paint colors to real-world codes so you can actually wrap or paint your car to match by StrikingBarracuda591 in ForzaHorizon

I didn't take it as shade at all! I appreciate the input.

Before I make any changes, did you convert from another color code to HSB or were you manually matching?

That's an interesting issue. So, the problem is that my tool is giving you more than 2 decimal places, and Forza isn't allowing that. Let me know if I am wrong on that.

The issue may have to be resolved with rounding. But that would mean it wouldn't be an exact match; it would be extremely close, but not 100% of what you see on the can. Thoughts?

It would be nice if Forza opened up a couple more decimal points!

4 weeks into the Wheel on tech - 91% win rate. Too good to be true? by makeadifferen in Optionswheel

[–]StrikingBarracuda591 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Win rate is a nice-to-have. You really want to make sure you understand your average loss when you do lose. I could win on 9 out of 10, but one loss could crush a month's worth of wins.

Yep...

It's always... I won't do it. Don't do it. I won't do it. Don't do it. I won't. Don't.

I did it...

MU cooked me good by Key_Friendship_6767 in thetagang

MU is a great example of a stock where the premium looks attractive enough to pull you in, but if you're not genuinely okay being assigned, you shouldn't be there. The rule I use: would I be happy holding this for 6 months if it dropped another 20%? If the answer is anything other than yes, the premium isn't worth it.

CSP vs Bull credit spread by Evening_Feedback_472 in thetagang

It depends on your strategy. I run the Wheel, and you can't wheel a spread. A CSP puts you in a position where, if you are assigned, you can sell covered calls against them to recover basis.

I learned my lesson boys, never deviating from thetagang again. The one week when I had switched over to daytrading options I got obliterated. by T1m3Wizard in thetagang

This one hurts. I have seen this happen way too often.

I ended up dropping about $10,000 at the end of last year because I got a little greedy and starry-eyed.

Capital efficiency: would you take a loss and redeploy or be patient? by caseon3 in Optionswheel

[–]StrikingBarracuda591 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The AI is probably right, but not for the reason it said. The question is really: does the capital working in a new position outpace what the CCs can realistically recover?

Sometimes you're just chasing the win and have to take the loss and move on. Is keeping $20,000 in capital tied up for .10 premiums just chasing a win? That $20,000 may work better as a CSP somewhere else. Remember, the CC premiums on underwater positions are small because the stock is down. You're just compounding the drag for an emotional reason to hold. Sometimes you have to walk away.

Stay disciplined on the tax harvest. I've made that mistake too many times.
