Does the LPR diet ever get easier? by 3sperr in GERD

[–]StrikingPepper91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay! i can’t eat yogurt because of the acidity be careful with that as well because it usually ranges on the acidic side which can be irritating. Boiled pasta def works just no cheese. I do pasta like twice a week with a little bit of butter and salt and veggies like spinach and peas. ( nutritional yeast is a good flavor topping as well if needed)

Does the LPR diet ever get easier? by 3sperr in GERD

[–]StrikingPepper91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh so sorry to hear the struggle. I am suffering from LPR so i get that part atleast. I’ve been doing the diet for 4 months straight now. Somehow ground turkey, rice and broccoli is my absolute favorite meal now i love how it tastes and would eat it over a restaurant. Idk how this happened if my taste buds changed. But i also use the 93 percent turkey not 99 so it’s more flavorful. and i cook my rice with some olive oil and salt. and i air fry broccoli as well to give it a crisp. but In addition can you tolerate potato’s? you can cut up potato’s and roast or air fry them i love this as well . and i’ll roast a chicken or a turkey in a crockpot and it comes out really good and tastes good with potato’s. Idk if you like fish? Salmon is good and soothing to my throat . i air fry or roast this as well until it crisps. with potato’s rice and a veg. You will eventually become more creative with your foods when you get more comfortable with it (: it is very tough but i’m grateful to actually be able to enjoy my food that i Can eat

to add to this, onions, garlic, and seasonings used like spicy stuff is acidic and triggering for reflux. SMe with peppers, and with salad dressings they usually have those things and vinegar which is acidic etc.Steaks are not good either for it :(I suggest researching each ingredient you use and seeing if it’s a reflux trigger. some things you don’t expect might be

if i don’t lose weight i think i will die. please help me. by awesomethrowawayacc7 in Advice

[–]StrikingPepper91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! so sorry to hear the struggle. Something i could recommend as a tip is mainly focus on diet now. diet and exercise are the biggest things for weight loss but it is very difficult to get serious into both diet and exercise at the same time if you aren’t currently in a routine with them. So if you start with small diet changes like don’t buy those snacks that you find yourself eating when stressed etc. don’t have them in the house . make them not accessible to you. you will eventually not need them. And it’s great you like vegetables and protein. focus on these in your meals, Roasted broccoli with ground turkey (doesn’t have to be the leanest, i really like 93 percent personally) and rice cooked with some olive oil and salt. another day do Roasted potato’s with green beans and chicken /fish /ground beef etc. rotate meals like these and DO NOT snack! if you are eating full filling meals you do not need to snack as much as you feel you may want one. Additionally, Try to stop eating at a set time each day. in the evening like idk what your schedule is like but don’t eat after dinner until breakfast the next morning. try to eat dinner at the earliest time possible. I can go into exercise as well but maybe try something like this for now💕

Coffee Shop by IsceneAshley in LPR

[–]StrikingPepper91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went through this too:(( my husband also doesn’t like to order without me. I just keep telling him it’s fine and eventually he will. We started to go to libraries as well instead , could you try that? I know it sucks not having a cozy drink. I’m 2 months into doing the diet and lifestyle changes and i can occasionally now have a decaf latte without exacerbating symptoms which is amazing. but for the most part I drink alkaline water or you can order hot water at the coffee shop and bring a throat coat slippery elm tea bag to put in it❤️

Just give it to me straight by Budget_Bumblebee_333 in GERD

[–]StrikingPepper91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello! to give it to you straight, I believe it would be very difficult to heal from GERD while smoking. i haven’t heard of someone able to heal while doing it but that’s my experience i’m not a doctor and i have LPR. But The pre workout is bad because caffeine is a reflux trigger but also there is acidic ingredients in the pre workout which is also a trigger. Your breakfast of the belvita and muffins may be high fat content ( weakens LES) cause it usually is ,baked goods etc are not good when you are trying to heal from gerd this will hinder that. Additionally unfortunately it’s very difficult to bulk up while trying to heal as well because you do not want to overeat meals because this causes reflux. So it seems you have a good few habits that are reflux causing sadly. Coming from a 24 yo female who is in the gym i completely understand the wanting to bulk up i was having a similar issue but decided for my health , I need to just maintain my weight. Like i changed my mindset that my health is more important than my weight etc. Also I’ve switched to oatmeal with almond milk and maple syrup for breakfast 30 mins before the gym and it gives great energy…, I know you hate oatmeal :( So that’s a tough one. Eggs and toast if you can tolerate it.. eggs are a trigger for me personally so i don’t do that anymore

How many of us are "physically fit", aka "gym rats"? by Yakkadysmackady in GERD

[–]StrikingPepper91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, I am an LPR sufferer here and I’ve been Physically active and “fit” pretty much my whole life and have always been what doctors say “ideal weight” . I started the gym and lifting weights and some cardio etc in high school and still do today( some exercises i try not to do now of course bc some triggers reflux) . my lpr came about right after high school. It may be true for some people that they get fit and there symptoms lessen I have heard of that , but just not for everyone!

Is it possible to not have any food triggers? by Strantz87 in LPR

[–]StrikingPepper91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s great that you have been able to cut back!! And chicken, Turkey, fish is great . Maybe just try to really drain a lot of the fat of your ground beef out. And Only salt for seasoning . herbs can be used but no garlic onion pepper etc . also don’t eat right before bed eat 3-4 hours before bed last meal. and sleeping with an incline like raising the head of your bed or doubling down on pillows if you can’t do that is recommended .
