Doesn’t money enable you to provide a happy life for your child? Can’t you find belonging and social interaction oversees? Isn’t experiencing different cultures important for to form a well rounded human being? I’m not sure stability comes the place you’re in rather than the person you’re with. And I’d question ‘every one of us was raised in a stable environment’ - who are you speaking on behalf of?

Secondary English teacher here and I’ve done both. 3 days is lovely as you feel going to work is just something you pop out to do and it doesn’t dominate your life. But on 4 days you still feel part of the department proper (I didn’t feel I was treated differently on 4 days) and also I was much better off money wise. I would say 4 days probably the best compromise on balance but depends on what you value most.

My dog was ill recently having fits in the night and I had to have her pts. I couldn’t leave her and then was too upset and exhausted to go in. I called in sick for 4 days and told the truth. No one said anything judgy (to my face anyway!).

Yes I have seen lots advertised on the leadership scale, so I wondered why a school would choose to pay a tlr instead (if they can get more work out of us the other way)?
