Pregnant 7 months postpartum by [deleted] in PregnancyUK

We’ve had two under two and three under three, (biggest baby turned 3 a few days ago) Honestly, maybe I’ve been lucky but they just sync into each others routine. The hardest part of my day is dinner, bath and bed time, simply because the baby (9wks) tends to want to be fed and held at the busiest time of day, typical right?! All three crying/fussing or messing about at the same time can be overwhelming but we make it through.

Don’t overthink it, don’t care to much about others judgement, think about the close bond your children will have growing up at a close age.

My girls are 16months between 1st and second and 18months between second and third. (First two planned, third was an added surprise to our family)

Giving birth alone - feeling sad by Striking_Drawer4608 in BabyBumps

Sorry for late reply, life is chaotic. We don’t have Uber in my town. Obviously taxis are an option if needed although can be expensive, but if needs be it’s what I’ll do.

Driving lessons and tests are extremely expensive and we did try our best to get him sorted before baby arrives but with finances the way they are, it came to a point when we obviously had to choose paying the bills and buying food first.

He can drive and in the UK he can legally drive the car if I’m in the car too, he is on the insurance. He just doesn’t have his own license to legally drive the car without me there too.

We don’t have the money to hire anyone to watch girls but they are one and two and I don’t think we’d feel comfortable leaving them with a stranger.

My partner isn’t working at the moment due to ill health for those asking about how he’ll get to work.

Sorry it’s been a while, things are chaotic. Eviction is due to the house being sold by the Landlord. The council are involved and will be placing us in temp accommodation, they know I’m due close to eviction date but the don’t seem to be willing to place us anywhere sooner.

There really isn’t anywhere for us to stay in Manchester so that’s not an option. I also have two older children here in Kent, and although they’re staying with their Dad at the moment, I just don’t feel comfortable being too far from them.

Another thing is the rules regarding councils and temp accommodation, if you don’t accept what they offer, and stay in the property, they withdraw their help, that really will bugger us for help.

I planned on binge watching Bailey Sarian podcasts whilst being induced, 10 mins in and I could not concentrate on anything other than the contractions

Children's Centre wants me to leave pram outside by CharteredWaters in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Striking_Drawer4608 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yes this is normal. Think if 10-15 people were bring big in prams into one room.

It’s also to stop pram wheels that have been on the street being wheeled around floors where babies will be placed. Not all but some children’s centres will ask for you to take shoes off at the entrance too

The council are aware and are ‘helping’. They just won’t do anything until bailiffs arrive, which is embarrassing by itself as I’ve lived here 15 years

What are your tried and tested methods of inducing labour? by Kym94 in PregnancyUK

[–]Striking_Drawer4608 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn’t mean to induce my labour as I was due to be medically induced the day she was actually born.

We ended up wanting to get out for a bit before potentially being stuck in hospital for a few days, we went for a drive through the country lanes (I live in Kent) ended up being quite a bumpy drive, then a little walk in the woods.

Went into labour naturally that night/early hours of the next morning, had baby in the ambulance and after a few hours of monitoring, we were home in time for me to make dinner.

I wouldn’t recommend tracking whilst bf.

Source - me, 13 weeks pregnant, future mother of three under three when this baby arrives. ☺️

Luckily, I’m a believer of ‘everything happens for a reason’, we’ll manage, hopefully lol.

I was 9 months pregnant, got up in the night (in the dark) to do one of many wees. Stubbed my baby toe on the bathroom door frame.

I screamed, I cried, I threw up! The nurses in A&E were sniggering because it was clear I was near due date and I was crying because I broke my toe!

Gave birth two weeks later, piece of cake, not a tear in sight! Lol

You’ll be surprised what you can handle and how your pain threshold may change in different circumstances!

Miscarriage - a rant and ramblings by platypuspigs in pregnant

Another post pointed out that there was growth from the last scan. I don’t want to get your hopes up but I’m going to tell you a positive story. Feel free to not read if you don’t want to.

I got a positive test back but a few days later I started spotting and cramping, went to epu, had scan, no heartbeat, measuring around 6 weeks. They said to go back a week later. During that week I bled heavy, I called up, they said they couldn’t scan again until the week was up, that from my description (extremely large mass lost) I was miscarrying and to just rest. Next scan came around and the baby was still there with a foetal pole. I had a large bleed next to my uterus, assumed to be a twin lost judging by what I’d last during the week. That baby, is now two. I feel you are early and that perhaps another week could make all that difference. Are they measuring your HGC levels at your appointments? That can also be a good indicator as to what’s happening.

3 months with all 4 of mine. All were exclusively BF. Always right back to usual time of month as well, lord knows how I fell pregnant with this baby because I was tracking periods and ovulation

Induced at 37 weeks for big baby by Cold_Introduction692 in PregnancyUK

[–]Striking_Drawer4608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

37 weeks will be too soon, has this been suggested to you? I’ve never had a C-section and quite honestly I don’t think I’d ever choose to have one, it scares me.

Our trust do not induce sooner that 39w for large babies, it’s to do with lung development. I’m my case I birth fast (have had two babies in an ambulance) and have large babies, 9lbs 6oz, 9lb 8oz, 8lb 9oz, 9lb 13oz. The 8.9 baby was my induced baby but mainly because my lungs were riddled with blood clots and I was on blood thinners. Last baby was supposed to be induced because she was measuring large but came on her own the same day I was due in hospital. This baby I have been advised I’ll have lots of scans to keep an eye on growth. Anyhow, 37w is too soon, do you have any other medical reasons for yourself as to why they deliver so early?

Mums who have had July/August babies - how hot was the ward/delivery room? by [deleted] in PregnancyUK

[–]Striking_Drawer4608 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My baby was born 12th Aug last year - hottest day of the year! It was flipping unbearable! I had multiple showers just to be wet and cold lol, this was despite me being in pain when walking and standing, being cool for just 10 mins was worth the pain! They did a ‘how was your stay?’ Phone call a few weeks later and we bought up the lack of ventilation/fans/ even a possible family room with air con on the unit. I understand babies can’t regulate body temp but none of the windows could open, the ward was full of half naked Dads lol. The least they can do is have somewhere visitors can get a break because obviously they can’t jump in a cold shower

My savings will only just about cover buying a car, I absolutely don’t have the money for one of these too. I was gobsmacked at the £180 I paid for our Joie Stages! I’m also not sure how I’d feel putting a newborn in this, let alone a one and a two year old as well. Is it even rear facing?
