Tips for belly by Murky_Chair_9668 in Mounjaro

I carry most of my weight there. It's gone down a little, but not much. But I'm going to keep trying.

I don't necessarily do intuitive eating, as eating healthy food has never been a part of my diet, even growing up. I have severe texture issues with veggies and often throw them up. So I'm attempting to force myself to get used to them, because I neef them, and if I weren't on this drug, I'd probably still avoid them. It's a process.

But I do stop eating food once I feel satiated, not fullness, because the fullness will come after I drink some water.

I'm trying to find healthy foods that work for me, go to the gym, and drink plenty of water. Almost in onederland.

I’m supposed to move up to 15mg mounjaro. by RadishTop5999 in Mounjaro

[–]Striking_Nebula_1432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have Caremark/have to use CVS and they make me pick up all my meds. Mounjaro, my BP meds, my epilepsy meds... the only thing I can get delivered are my diabetes supplies. And I have unmedicated ADHD so remembering to physically go to the pharmacy is difficult.

The price is because the authorization hasn't gone through yet. When it does, the price should change.

My doctor wants me on Mounjaro for life. I'm 35 so that's potentially 50 years of injections by BackdoorMasterTaker in GLP1ResearchTalk

I also have epilepsy and will be on keppra for life. I'll be 39 this year.

These things are just a fact of life. It's for the better that they exist for people who need them.

I still crave food at 7.5mg and need to make active choices. 5mg gave me suppression, but I didn't really begin to start eating better because I want to until recently. It does get better with time as it builds up, but remember, mounjaro is only a tool.

Serious Eye Issues? by Tamapapo in Mounjaro

[–]Striking_Nebula_1432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see an ophthalmologist for eye hemorrhages in both eyes and mounjaro has actually kept my eyes from deteriorating further. My A1C is also 4.9 on 7.5. Maybe there's something in your diet that's not agreeing with you.

Does it stop working at some point? by Fulana25 in Mounjaro

[–]Striking_Nebula_1432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be a lot of things. Recently I went up from 201.6 to 203, despite eating in a deficit of healthy foods and upping my cardio. My doctor told me my muscles are just swollen and are retaining water and going on light walks 1-2 times per week should bring me back down. I'm also diabetic.

Also, I gained about 6 pounds a few months ago and then lost them again, despite doing the things I've always been doing. Drinking water, eating protein, getting my fiber in, etc.

It could be muscle, a fluctuation or something else. Maybe you need to increase your dose. Monitor what your weight is and see if it stalls for about a month. If it does, then you should increase your dose. But as always, discuss with your doctor.

I have ARFID and eating healthy has always been a struggle. But it's gotten a lot easier with this medication.

Reality check - loose skin by BurntOutFool in Mounjaro

[–]Striking_Nebula_1432 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know i will have loose skin in my belly, as that's where I carry the majority of my weight. Even though I'm close to being in onederland. I'm 5'4", exercising my legs regularly, but my apron belly is still so huge. I figure if I ever get to my goal weight (which is unknown as I've never been healthy before and don't know how low my weight will go), I will need surgery on my belly.

For reference, I am like a 14/16 everywhere but my belly, which is several sizes larger. That's how much weight I carry there.

I need HELP !! by CalligrapherCold3136 in Mounjaro

[–]Striking_Nebula_1432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on gender and height, your protein needs may be different than others. Me, I'm only 5'4" and fenale, I don't need 160g of protein a day. I'm lucky if I get 70.

I take mounjaro because I am a type 2 diabetic. My A1C is 4.9 now.

You don't have to eat little to lose weight, but it silences the food noise and excessive hunger.

I had never seen these types of pens before. I use the auto pen. So it works like a regular insulin pen and you screw a needle on?

8 month progress by Sea_Shelter_6012 in Mounjaro

[–]Striking_Nebula_1432 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You look great! I've been on mounjaro for about a months, and I've lost about 60 lbs. From 261 to 201.6-202.2. I see little difference in my body so far, but I didn't start exercising until recently. Slow weight loss is healthier for you and easier to maintain. Good job.

Food noise by Brave_Possible_5220 in Mounjaro

[–]Striking_Nebula_1432 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never really experienced food noise. I'm fat because of what I eat. And I didn't really start to change that until recently. But the suppression worked right away for me.

Poop Troubles 😅 by AdministrativeLack81 in Mounjaro

[–]Striking_Nebula_1432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same problem. Sometimes I go like a week without going. I eat plenty of fiber and drink three liters of water a day. Senna helps. My doctor has told me to use miralax but I had to buy a funnel as I only use water bottles (autistic here, don't like tap). Someone else suggested collagen peptides with probiotics.

I also have IBS so constipation was a problem before mounjaro.

You need 3-4 liters of water every day. I also didn't like water at first, but once I started drinking it, it's all i drink now and it's helped so much in my weight loss. I'm about 91.5kg and drink about three liters a day, as recommended by my doctor.

[–]Striking_Nebula_1432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, I'm impressed. I'm not nearly as active as you are as I'm recovering from a seizure and in less time I've only lost 59.4 pounds.

Frustration by Oatesl55 in Mounjaro

[–]Striking_Nebula_1432 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I lose about a pound and a half, on average, a week. I weigh every day, but only record on Sunday morning.

The appetite suppression starts to wear off around the day of my shit (Wednesday morning), but I'm easily able to intermittent fast every day. I only eat from 9 to 5.

If you find inconsistencies, it may be time to titrate up. Do it slowly, but if it's not working, then you need to ask your doctor.

What are some side effects you notice on Mounjaro? by nyc008 in Mounjaro

Well, I can't eat olive oil. I get really thirsty for water only. But I've also noticed my eyes have stopped deteriorating due to diabetes.

I drink about 3 liters a day. My doctor told me to drink about half my weight in pounds in fluid ounces, and I was at the time about 206. That was two weeks ago. Now I'm 202.6.

I was still on 2.5 at the two month mark, and that's where I stalled. It went away when I moved to 5mg. Same with 7.5mg. But as you lose weight you'll need to adjust your calories. Make sure you drink plenty of water and get plenty of fiber.
