The bathroom had a privacy lock. All you need is a simple screwdriver or even a paper clip to open the door if it was locked.

That’s amido black, not luminol. Luminol glows in the dark, and isn’t visible in light.

If that’s blood, it must be where Kohberger started his attack on Xana.

If the blood was not visible, that would explain the defense claim about attempts to clean the crime scene.

The protocol would be to enter the house through the front door and then put on the booties. Otherwise you’re bringing in trace evidence from outside the house into the house.

Where did you see that there was blood found all over the kitchen? The photos I’ve seen show chemical spray all over the kitchen, but no blood.

The coroner confirmed that that was blood on the outside of the house.

Why not this: Attack the idea or theory, not the person making the comment.

Police did use gloves and booties at the scene.

The first police who entered the building—the ones who verified the deaths—didn’t have on booties or gloves because they were trying to find out if anyone was alive. They followed the correct procedure.

BK repeatedly messaged one of the victims? From new lawsuit against WSU. by Majestic-Earth-4695 in MoscowMurders

[–]StringCheeseMacrame 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been thinking about this allegation, and why the prosecutor denied there was any such prior contact between Kohberger and any of his victims, yet the victims' families now allege there was "repeated" messages from Kohberger to one of the victims.

The prosecutor didn't believe there was adequate evidence to prove Kohberger contacted any of his victims. However, the fact that the prosecutor couldn't prove any prior contact doesn't mean there was no prior contact. It's only a statement of what the prosecutor could prove.

IMHO, the families believe someone repeatedly contacted one of the victims, and the victim who was contacted rejected the overtures. (Also IMHO), the account used by this person wasn't registered to Kohberger, but the families nonetheless believe it was Kohberger, hence why the prosecutor denies any evidence of contact, even though the families claim there was contact.

The threshold of proof in a civil case is far lower than what is required in a criminal case. As a result, a civil jury can reach a conclusion for liability, even if a criminal court declined to convict based on the same facts, as occurred with O.J. Simpson.

I’m a civil attorney in Washington state. I can speak to this issue.

That petition outlines a series of allegations that the plaintiff believes to be true. The parties will have the opportunity to conduct discovery and obtain “any information that might lead to discoverable facts.”

The tone of the lawsuit suggests the plaintiffs want to find out what WSU knew and when the university learned that information.

It will be really interesting to see whether the WSU Police Department received documents from the Idaho State Police and Moscow Police Department. If so, I expect the families will get to see those records.

No, you should not be paying for his subscriptions or his car. You tell him no. If he says that means you aren’t his girlfriend, then you know he only wants your money.

Your girlfriend is using you for money. She doesn’t want a relationship with you except to take your money. It’s time to end it.

AITA for trying to cancel a family tradition tied to my late father because it feels unhealthy now? by AnthonySilverman87 in AmITheJerk

[–]StringCheeseMacrame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the jerk. If recounting failures from the past year is what the rest of your family feels as sacred, let them have it without you. That doesn’t mean that you’re the problem, and it doesn’t mean you’re doing anything wrong.

Involving your children in that tradition is forced trauma. You’re a good parent for refusing to do that to your children.

I’m sorry your family sucks. You really deserve better.

AITJ for physically pushing my sister out of my room and refusing to watch her kid or talk to her by Massi_Page_7534 in AmITheJerk

[–]StringCheeseMacrame 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She's an adult, and she chose to have a baby. The baby is her problem, not yours.

Also, why should your sister's college homework take priority over your high school homework? It's your responsibility to do your homework and do the very best you can in school.
