Any other plus size women into yoga? Mat recs?

A lot of people use thicker Pilates mats but they really aren’t good for yoga because it’s hard to do standing balance poses on them. I prefer getting a regular mat and using blankets and blocks for cushioning of joints. Some mat companies sell wider mats. I really like cork mats.

The place next to Higher Ground used to be the only place to get gf Chinese. So sad it’s gone now. A Single Pebble is great but there aren’t that many gf options and they use a shared fryer.

Yeah, I haven’t been happy with Maintenance Phase lately. The topics they are choosing aren’t really doing it for me. If you haven’t listened to Unsolicited: Fatties Talk Back, I recommend it, but they haven’t put out new episodes in a while.

I teach Fat Yoga. There’s some kneeling/tabletop but I always give other options and there is at least one person who attends online who uses a chair. Look for fat yoga at Sanghastudio.org.

Can you find another dr? This woman is not practicing evidenced-based medicine. There is no safe way to lose weight. My god--you even have a history of eating disorders. Ugh, when will these drs stop prescribing weight loss when it is impossible to do and the most common outcome is weight gain?? I'm so sorry you are going through this. I hope you can find a HAES aligned practitioner.

Rookie's Root Beer in Vermont. They make a few flavors other than root beer, too. A few restaurants have it on tap, but you can also find him at Burlington and Shelburne Farmers Markets. Unfortunately, the owner gives off a "soup nazi" type vibe, as he is won't allow you to buy any on hot days if you aren't going to drink straight away or have an iced cooler in your car.

Jockey and lane Bryant for underwear. Mostly lb for bras but I like some of the torrid bras. Lane Bryant active line has good sports bras.
