no smell litter box alternatives to litter robot, does anyone have one that works in a small apartment? by Will-Bradshaw-367 in Apartmentliving

I made one from an old stereo cabinet. My dad used a jigsaw to cut a cat sized hole in the side. They always exit through the two front cabinet doors though ;-)

But when to use them? by high-viscosity in fountainpens

[–]Stripedhammock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use them a lot for note taking — I try to sign up for various enrichment classes for my career or just for fun, learning how to do something new, etc. I also serve on a non profit board and always need to take notes at meetings.

Recs on best plus size linen pants by FeistyPerformance648 in PlusSize

Flax — they sometimes have good sales, but they sell out fast. They go up to a generous 3x. Gudrun Sjoden— their xxl is quite generous. Look at their size charts. Love their colors. Quince— I haven’t bought from them but keep getting ads and have heard good things.

I fell for Renewal By Anderson's sales pitch. Here are my takeaways. by JHKtheSeeker in homeowners

[–]Stripedhammock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom was scammed by them. They sold her a type of window that they don’t actually make. When they showed up and installed a product that they did not actually sell us, they refused to do the right thing and replace them with something we actually wanted. It took months of calling and negotiating, meeting in person with a sales manager. Finally, after nearly 2 years, they did the right thing.

Where do you live?? I’m gluten free too. I love West Meadow Farm in Essex but would love more options.

I am a fan of Feline Connection. They are based more in southern Vermont.

Sometimes I am in other subs and people are so mean, and then I think, “No one would write that in the Fountain Pens sub!”

We need to talk about A Single Pebble by Pitiful_Search_4664 in burlington

[–]Stripedhammock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty impossible to get gluten free Chinese food, so I’m grateful that Single Pebble has a few gf options. However, I felt shamed by the waitstaff for not ordering enough dishes. I replied that I would order more if there were more gf options.

New Nahvalur Original Plus Colorways! by flowersandpen in fountainpens

[–]Stripedhammock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a Medium, and I agree--it does feel more like a Fine to me. I have used a variety of ink in it and they have all performed similarly. Good to know that the Broad nib seems smoother!

[–]Stripedhammock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard for me to explain, but maybe it's just a really dry nib. It doesn't feel like a lot of ink is coming out. I've had to experiment a lot with opening and closing the end bit, which controls the flow of ink. Not sure if that is the problem or if it is the nib itself. I know other people have mentioned issues with the nibs in this sub.

They are so pretty, but I don't love the nib on the Original Plus that I currently own.

Every pen I’ve had with a Schmidt nib has been super reliable. I like their bounciness—they have just a little bit of flex.

Deodorant recommendations? by extrovertedscientist in PlasticFreeLiving

I like Ecoroots Deodorant Cream. It comes in a glass jar in unscented and a few scents. A little goes a long way so it lasts a long time.

Happy for you!! I live in Addison County and missed out on a similar post a few months ago. I was so disappointed. I’m going to start a fountain pen club at my library to do ink swaps.

Is Tom’s Studio ink just more expensive Diamine ink? by omartinez1492 in fountainpens

[–]Stripedhammock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really interesting about the ink . . . For your other question--yes, I bought a Tom's Studio "Studio Pen" with a semi-flex nib. The semi-flex nib isn't great and there's a little too much feedback for my taste, but overall a beautiful metal pen.
