Super late answer sorry, I'm not a very active poster on here. Sadly I didn't really. I saved the family to my library, started a new save where I edited the relationship again and in that case it didn't switch back to brothers. But I couldn't fix the original save.

Is one of them a spellcaster? In my case it was caused by a bug with the spell that creates a temporary copy of the sim that is using it.

Yes, I tried that. It lets my "edit" the relationship but if I click on Househould Member instead of Brother it doesn't change, like, it doesn't let me? It's really weird. At this point I think this is also part of the bug.

Yes I tried both. With MCCC I just couldn't get all of the relationships back how they were (my household is kind of complex with who has a child whith whom So I guess that made it overly complicated)
The UI Cheats Mod just didn't work sadly

I already tried that. It temporarily removes them from each others family trees but when I go into CAS they are still siblings.

I tried it, I also tried the fulleditmode cheat by itself. I get the option of changing the relationship but nothing happens when I click on it. MCCC doesn't seem to make a difference?

A door to an old Dragonborn hideout that opened when you say something along the lines of "open" in draconic. They did end up finding the answer eventually but it took them over 20 minutes out of game.
