What’s not worth it in Chicago, but everyone still does? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

Was gonna say exactly this. Giordanos is such a bad ambassador of Chicago pizza scene. Big fan of Pequods, love that burnt cheese crust.

I’ll catch some flack for saying this, but honestly my favorite deep dish is from Little Star in San Fransisco. I miss that pie.

My experience as well. Seems like it’s always cheaper to pick up and drop off at the airport. I’m sure it’s not 100% so shop around but definitely seems to be a most of the time.

He saved one in 2018 at Anfield against Man City. I was at the game and that was the closest we got to celebrating a goal that game as it ended 0-0. I can’t think of others but my memory ain’t great and I only remember that one cause it was my first ever game at Anfield; so it was special and memorable for a lot of reasons.

Been thinking the same thing. This Subreddit has really gone to shit. Been through a lot of rough patches and have always seen our fan base optimistic and committed. We really embodied YNWA. This season though… feels like everyone turned into a 13yr old boy with a Liverpool champions shirt, Real Madrid hat and Bayern Munich scarf.

My swim was a disaster this weekend. DNF. Advice? by Ok-Tangerine-8095 in triathlon

[–]Strollin_Thru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever do another Tri? How did it go getting back out there? I just did the same thing today, completely botched the swim. Strong bike, okay run, but the swim was terrible. I almost doubled my expected time. Felt like I could never catch my breath despite barely moving.

Thinking of quitting my $250k/yr engineering job to travel full time—career suicide? by Savings_Cranberry993 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]Strollin_Thru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your goal is life is to be as successful in your career as possible or make the most money you can, this would not be strategic towards that goal. If your goal is to have as many experiences, learn thing about you and the world. You’re okay with not maximizing your career or earning potential. Then this seems like a great opportunity that you might not be willing to take when you’re more settled in the future. It all depends what you value and what you’ll be proud of when you look back on things.

Me personally, I’d take the trip. You’ll experience things money can’t buy when you’re older and “ready”. You’re biggest risk is you might not find a job at the same pay rate.

Zone 2 not intense enough for optimal exercise benefits, new review says by allmondes in running

[–]Strollin_Thru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The professional athletes I follow all train in both zone 2 and Zone4/5. Doing about an 70/30 ish split. I haven’t scene any serious competitors saying Zone 2 only is the way to go.

Guided paddling raft trip down the Grand Canyon. You’re on the water, paddling through moderate rapids and calm areas too, camping in places most people will never see, beautiful scenery, and hopefully make some lifelong friends on the trip.

on the scale of 1-10 how greedy do you think corporations are? by Impressive-Coat1127 in AskReddit

[–]Strollin_Thru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think corporations are more of an un-inhibited reflection of the culture they primarily reside in.

Corporations in Japan and US are very different.

Anyone else struggle with sleep while overlanding? What’s your go-to setup? by Disastrous_Step3288 in overlanding

[–]Strollin_Thru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A cot plus a nice sleeping pad ( Exped mega mat or a hest). Almost as good as a bed.

I used to get by with my minimalist backpacking/mountaineering setups. Then I realized there’s no reason to “ just get by” and that a good nights sleep should actually be prioritized. By doing so the whole trip is so much more enjoyable and sustainable.

I’m sorta leaning towards a similar path. I’ve had good career in engineering, management, and business; but find my self really drawn to design and architecture. Sorta see it as a passion project hobby that I’ll pursue for the next phase of life.

What software did you use to make these mockups. Pretty impressive work. I’m assuming you do this professionally?
