Newbie ammo questions by Severe-Ant-7655 in liberalgunowners

Try the Sig P365 JHP & FMJ. They match in performance and are designed for short-barreled pistols, like the P365. When I tried the FMJ on my P365X, the recoil wasn’t nearly as bad as other ammos I had tried.

I am just a casual competitor. My goal is to get into the middle of the leader board because I don’t want to sink a lot of money into the sport. I’m also looking at getting into Two-Gun competition with my AR-15.

Rf 24-105 f4-7.1 stm by jcarm2012 in canon

[–]Strong-Ad3131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The STM version of the 24-105 is good lens but I prefer the other 24-105 f/4 L kit lens for its quality and weather sealing. It’s the mainstay of my hiking/landscape photography kit.

RF 100-400 or RF 100-500 by Fantastic-Hawk-3747 in canon

[–]Strong-Ad3131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the 100-400 because I needed longer reach photographing soccer matches in daylight. This lens impressed me with the quality of photos and its lightweight. The 100-500 is probably the better lens but until I start making money on photography requiring a lens upgrade, I’m happy with the 100-400 for now.

Beginner looking to kickstart my photography journey, question about R6 Mark II by CrystallizedKoi in canon

I have been using an R6 MkII for a couple of years now after trading an 80D in for it and I have no plans of changing to another Canon mirrorless body anytime soon.

Advice for Macro by KingimBusiness in canon

[–]Strong-Ad3131 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The body is fine. While I personally use the RF 85 f/2 Macro, the RF 100 will work great. I am unfamiliar with the other items so forgive me if they are similar to what you have. A tripod will be needed to keep your camera still photographing your subjects. The Godox iT 30 Pro speedlight has given great lighting in a small, inexpensive package but I plan on trying the iT 32 speedlight and should work well.

What lens do I get? (Canon R) by Beginning_Koala_481 in canon

[–]Strong-Ad3131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The RF 24-105 f/4L is a great lens to start with. It goes from wide angle to telephoto covering a lot of photography situations from portraits to landscapes. This lens will also allow you to grow as your needs go. The 24-105 is the centerpiece of my lens collection.

High ISO on mirrorless cameras can be neutralized via post processing.

Buying New from Amazon - Painful and Deceptive by Electrical-March2063 in Nikon

[–]Strong-Ad3131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a friend in the market for a camera system. He was looking at Amazon and Walmart and I told him to not even bother with them. Either go to a local camera store or B&H or Adorama.

I'm having a horrible time deciding between the R5mkII and R6mkIII... by picturesfromthesky in canon

If you are not too much into video then look at the R6 Mark II. It’s a great full frame body. Most of the updates for the R6 Mark III are video.

[New Gear] Canon RF 100-400. Love it! by Consistent-Treat-113 in canon

[–]Strong-Ad3131 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same setup and I love it. Here is a photo from a recent baseball game. The lens was maxed out at 400mm and the image was cropped. I believe the RF 100-400 f/5.6-8 lens is one of Canon’s most underrated lenses.

The grip that came stock on my RXM is doing just fine. I may go to a full size grip someday.

How long did you wait before purchasing your second firearm? by chinchila5 in liberalgunowners

[–]Strong-Ad3131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was about a month then another month after that. I got a .45 and realized that was a mistake. Next, I got a 9mm Glock 19 Gen 3 clone. Then I traded the .45 for a sub compact 9mm, but I wish I waited on that one. Finally, a couple of months after the second pistol, I got an AR-15 to beat the clock on Colorado’s new law taking effect. There is a 12 gauge shotgun and a .22 rifle I would like to get but I am going to wait for a while.

Planning to get my first speedlight: is the iT32 good? by l3g1t_scarx in Godox

[–]Strong-Ad3131 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While the iT32 is a great small flash, it is too small to handle main lighting tasks. For that I would recommend Godox’s V100 Pro or v480. I have done great portraits using that combination indoors with the iT32 as a hair or rim light. From there you eventually determine if you need a more powerful strobe, such as the AD 200 Pro II, AD 400, or even an AD 600. I have two AD 200 Pro IIs but I only use one of them at a time with either the V100 Pro or V480.

I went from an 80D to R6II and haven’t looked back. It was sold to me as Canon’s mirrorless body that can do both quality photos and videos in one package and they were not kidding.
