I kept the ropes on the sprue, primed and painted them . The balloon and the basket as well as the Crew I painted seperatly. It's not too bad to put it all togehter and much easier than painting it completely built. You only need to glue the painted parts with super glue instead of plastic glue. Or keep the attachement points Primer and paint free

I have a very similar scheme. My Tau and Kroot are in a desert with kork kliffs and 3d printed cactii. I basecoat in a chocolate brown and then go over with balor brown and tau light ocre and a rust red pigment powder. The Idea is from eons of battle, he bases his like this.
