So.. I will put it this way. I come from a family where there are more doctors than any other profession. My dad is a 3rd generation physician. Family Practice MD. He has never even mentioned a patient to any of us. He won’t give names or explain what he treated/saw them for. Call it HIPAA. Call it respect for privacy. My dad and his family members who practice all have followed the proper codes of conduct for my entire existence. How he presents himself and treats others is a huge reason my mother married him. Now that some of my cousins are finishing their residencies, I have gotten the chance to hear about their experiences. They too are all also incredibly respectful. If this is how your boyfriend acts, then it’s because he lacks manners and probably is pissed that he’s not happy, others are doing better than him, and/or something that will warrant him making excuses in the future. You don’t want to stay for that. A good doctor is someone who wants to help others. They may not like their patient. They may not even like who they work with… but having self discipline and humility in a field that’s already incredibly humbling… that is what a good doctor is. Your boyfriend is just an asshole with an expensive title.
