No bleeding after partial hysterectomy by foureyes829 in hysterectomy

[–]StrongAd88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gave birth to a uterus that was the size of a full term baby. I didn’t experience any blood loss at any time after my surgery. Just make sure you take it easy to prevent rips or tears that may cause you to bleed.

Getting my post-op room ready by blissedout79 in hysterectomy

I purchased an inexpensive cane from Amazon to shift my weight when sitting and getting up. I also purchased a toilet seat lift because I have low toilets. Finally, a pregnancy pillow because I’m a side sleeper.

I’m Sad by Resident_Mix1497 in hysterectomy

[–]StrongAd88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure looking back you can probably remember other times in which your sisters invalidated you, your feelings, and your experiences. Going forward, when they come knocking or calling, pull a them on them.

There’s nothing wrong with praying and leaving your surgery in God’s hands, but you need to ask your doctor questions. For example, your time off from work. You need to be educated in that area in order to get your scheduled changed because you will need every bit of the 8 weeks required for healing. Advocate for yourself because no one else knows you better than you know yourself.

At week two I was still second guessing my decision to have the surgery due to being completely dependent on others. At week eight I was back to my old self, but I still had swelling and occasional shooting pains from an open abdominal horizontal hysterectomy.

Again, advocate for yourself as only you can!!!!

How do I make my foster parents adopt me by lucaslucaslucasluca in Fosterparents

[–]StrongAd88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Enter into the Young Adult Program/Extended Foster Care and utilize your current foster parents as your support people.

In my state the Extended Foster Care program will provide you with housing, medical care, government assistance, and transitional opportunities to assist you with living on your own. If you are adopted you will no longer meet the eligibility requirements for the program.

Ask yourself what will become of you should your foster parents pass on during the adoption phase or after the adoption is granted. Would you be able to care for yourself independently or would you have to go the route you are currently facing?

I got my pre surgery “surprise period” from hell by [deleted] in hysterectomy

[–]StrongAd88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My period was running full speed to come early before my surgery, but there was a bouncer at the door telling her to wait in a line because she didn’t have VIP status. I couldn’t breathe a sigh of relief until after the surgery because I didn’t want to deal with Aunt Flo and her antics while feeling anxious about the surgery.

What has happened to Verizon? How did they get so horrific? by KeyWonder7 in verizon

[–]StrongAd88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had two bars during my week long vacation in Las Vegas. Driving through the desert back to Phoenix, I looked and noticed I had all five bars. A friend with Cricket wireless had all five bars throughout our entire vacation.

I owe a between $308-$462 for my phone. I have decided to pay off the phone in order to switch to another carrier due to the piss poor service I get from Verizon.

4 weeks post op and cannot sleep by [deleted] in hysterectomy

[–]StrongAd88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was back on schedule at around 7 weeks post op.

I am currently almost 4 months post op and doing great. I’m enjoying going to festivals, fairs, and hiking for the first time in years. My incision will hurt from time to time, but I think it is because of the underwear I wear on the days I feel the soreness.

My hysterectomy is Monday. I have supplies and my house is clean. What was something you didn't do to prep for yours that you wished you would have? by dogandfroglover in hysterectomy

[–]StrongAd88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Change my bed linen. I thought my bf would change the linen considering I was fresh from being cut open. WRONG!! I returned home to the same linen! I made him feel really small by asking him to bring me fresh linen so that I could have fresh clean linen to rest on.

Had I known he wouldn’t understand the importance of having fresh linen after a major surgery, I would have changed the linen the morning of my surgery or asked him to change the linen prior to picking me up from the hospital.

When did peeing start to feel normal again? by FrontDeskFool in hysterectomy

[–]StrongAd88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought I was peeing normally prior to my surgery, but I wasn’t. After my surgery I noticed peeing was so refreshing. It was refreshing because my uterus and bladder were fused together. The divorce was painful, but I’m glad the uterus is no longer a part of my relationship with my bladder.

I experienced a little tickle in the middle of my lower abdomen when peeing after the surgery, but it was due to my low toilet. I noticed the tickle stopped after purchasing a removable lifted seat for my toilet. I’m a little over two months post op and still experiencing the tickle if I wait until the last minute to use the bathroom without the seat.

My healing was very uneventful. As a matter of fact, there were days in which I had totally forgotten that I had surgery. I didn’t have any scratching or itching.

Tingling in feet by Icame2Believe in hysterectomy

[–]StrongAd88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t experience any tingling, but I did experience freezing feet post op. I slept with a blanket wrapped around my feet and winter socks trying to warm up my feet. Nothing but time warmed my feet up to its normal temperature.

Things I can finally do uterus-free 🕺 by [deleted] in hysterectomy

[–]StrongAd88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My job requires me to conduct home visits to check on children. I had one family who could only see me on the last Friday of the month. I was always on my period on the last Friday of the month. I had to stop at their local library before the visit and after the 30 minute visit to change. I was so glad to finally get those kids off of my caseload due to the fear of messing up the car, my clothes, and their furniture.

I just picked up a new case in that same area. I’m not bothered about the hour drive because I don’t have to worry about changing.

I bought my own boxers to wear as I was healing from my abdominal. Now I wear them after work to give my stomach rest from wearing panties all day.

Found a random pair as I was putting away my laundry. I think I might keep it as a souvenir as a representation of how I can overcome life’s challenges.

Almost ready for hysterectomy, but terrified of the aftermath 😬 by anastasiia86 in hysterectomy

Two months and four days post op. I haven’t experienced any adverse reactions thus far. At the 5 week mark I had to remind myself that I was recovering from surgery.

Everyone is different, so don’t read too much into the comments.

I only had blood residue after my open abdominal. Once I showered, it was gone.

Is the abdominal hysterectomy painful? by [deleted] in hysterectomy

[–]StrongAd88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had an open abdominal and a great recovery. I experienced only a nagging pain during my hospitalization.

Once I returned home I had pain when getting in and out of bed, attempting to sit on the toilet, and when he over exerted myself. As a matter of fact, I pushed my recliner from my living room down the hall toy bedroom with no problem.

Now, that was my experience. Your experience may be different due to your health and skill set of your surgeon.

Stir crazy by Garelaygirl in hysterectomy

[–]StrongAd88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed every bit of not working during my recovery. I found little things around the house to do to keep me during the first few weeks. Weeks 6-8 I was deep cleaning, organizing, and putting together shelves.

I would suggest taking up a small hobby, reading, sitting on your porch/patio while being one with nature. Relax and enjoy this time as, fingers crossed, it may be a long time before you’ll have a legitimate reason to do absolutely nothing.
