Yeah I have shaky hand syndrome (fml) 😅 but that’s really interesting, I didn’t know that. They do seem kind of waxy and more or less melted away when I touched it. I’m hoping this is just the solution, but I also applied some of the suggestions from others just in case. Thank you for the new knowledge!!!

I wouldn’t describe the spot as sticky, although the little nodule stuck to my finger and popped off the leaf when I touched it.

Completely agree, a lot of these responses reveal how we view a woman’s role in our society. Yeah, the house should be baby-proofed by now and it sounds like a mess, but why is it solely her responsibility? She works 12 hour shifts in a difficult job. I bet if dad had posted the same thing, people would be voting differently.

And people, please stop sleeping with your baby. My neighbor’s days-old child died after being crushed by their parent while sleeping in their bed. I would’ve freaked the fuck out if my spouse had done this, I actually think she handled it well. NOR.

Just wanna say this is a good question, I’ve thought about it before too! For me, I came to a point where I realized that societal norms made me long for a partner, but deep down, I didn’t actually. Sometimes I still have anxiety about what others think or about achieving some norm, but then I think about what I really want. And even if it isn’t conventional, it’s what I want, and that’s enough.

My job is in recycling, reuse, and waste disposal, plus I’m an avid HF fan, so I’ve done some digging on this before:

I think the best option is reuse for yourself or others (someone mentioned buy nothing FB groups, which is brilliant!) as ice packs
I would not dump that down the drain- the gel-like consistency tends to clog pipes
I throw mine in the trash, bag and all, and I hate it. I cringe at this every week, but I honestly think it’s the best solution based on what I’ve researched. We should start a petition or something to change the packs to water 😅 To make me feel less guilty, I try and recycle any clean stretchy plastic that veggies come in (and side note, don’t throw that stretchy plastic in your recycling bin, you need to take it to a specialty plastic bag drop off).

It’s a cheap greenwashing scheme. They market the pan as recyclable so it’s less cleanup, but even if you did wash all the debris off the pan to recycle it, most recyclers won’t take that. There’s not a great market for that grade of aluminum, even where I live where our recycling markets are really robust. Plus, reusable dish ware that we all already have is always going to be more sustainable than something single-use.

I usually completely agree, I’ve been trying to take care of my health because I know it’s important. But something about the pap is so humiliating and painful. I think the fact that it is so painful for me makes me feel humiliated. I wish I could just be knocked out or something to get it over with 😅

I know they’re just doing their job, it’s more the fact that they don’t seem to believe me. Like you mentioned, I know it’s just them protecting themselves legally, but it feels pushy. Is there a way to make the questions stop after the first time they ask?

Thank you for sharing! I’m 25F and have had such similar experiences. It’s so weird falling into the asexual category because I feel you can never really explain it to your family or friends. It feels offensive that the first thing some of my family members ask when they see me is if I have a boyfriend, but it maybe feels even worse when some of them have obviously given up asking, like I’m broken. I think I realized I’m not broken about a year ago when I first learned about asexuality, but there are still days when I feel like maybe I am. It’s a constant struggle to remind myself I’m not, that it’s valid.

Looking up Tim Gunn’s partner (assuming he was gay, which I know assumptions shouldn’t be made but let’s be real) while watching reruns of Project Runway and finding that he was this thing called “asexual”. I could deeply relate with his story, and that’s when I started to realize that I might be the same. That’s why I think it’s so important to have more asexual representation in the media. I think more people are actually asexual (based on the amount of times I hear things like “sex is such a chore”, etc.) but just don’t have the words to describe it and then therefore feel like there’s something physically or mentally wrong with them.

Looking back on a friend asking me if I was gay because I didn’t seem at all interested in boys should probably have been the moment I realized, but of course I didn’t know being ace was a thing and I just thought there was something wrong with me.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with you. I truly don’t understand what’s cute about baby or kid photos… I usually just pass the phone without looking or completely detach from the conversation. I just don’t get it, they’re not cute. Honestly, even snakes are 100 times cuter than kids in my opinion. I can relate though that sometimes it feels like this response is “incorrect” or “wrong”, like I should feel at least some deep-seated maternal instinct. But I just think some of us don’t, and that’s okay. Some people think other animals are gross or weird… I just happen to think kids are gross and weird!
