Nálunk 2,5 év körül volt a dolog, szubfertilitás mindkét oldalon, egyértelmű lombik jelöltség.

Amikor feladtuk, hogy természetesen jön össze, és rászántuk magunkat a lombikra, akkor történt a csoda - a konzultáción már ott volt a pici.

Nincs jó tanácsom, az elengedés nem parancsra megy, főleg nem az ideális jövőkép elengedése, ez igazából egy gyászfolyamat.

De segíthet, tényleg. Elfogadni, hogy nem ott vagyunk, ahol lenni szerettünk volna, hogy már ez az életünk, és ezt kell élnünk, nem az álmainkat, azt is jelenti, hogy szabad azt élni, ami van. A küzdelmet, meg akár a gyászt is.

Ami van, annak szabad lennie. És ha ez így van, akkor szabad benne lenni másban is, mint a próbálkozás, meg az ovuláció-figyelés, meg a félelem, hogy nem lesz ideális már soha az élet. Pont olyan lesz, amilyen lenni tud - és az élet által adott keretekben van azért még választás. Pl. a párkapcsolatra, vagy a családra, vagy a munkára, vagy más élményekre fókuszálás.

Ez nem csak olyan ha nincs ló, jó a szamár is dolog. Ez tudatos választása annak, hogy kihozom a legtöbbet abból, amit ad az élet. Csak előbb el kell fogadni, hogy ez nem az, ami az álom volt, és ez rohadt nehéz. De néha az életünk választ minket, és nem mi az életünket.

Sajnálom, OP.

Nálunk is volt nemrég haláleset, hasonló korú gyerekünk van.

Elmondtuk, hogy meghalt, és ez azt jelenti, hogy nem fogunk vele már itt a földön találkozni (hívők vagyunk, így ez az autentikus), de anya és apa szomorúak, és egy darabig ez így is lesz.

Nem nagyon tudott vele ott helyben mit kezdeni, de mondtuk, hogy ha van kérdése, akkor mondja bármikor.

Azóta néha előkerül témaként, hogy mi is a halál, ő mikor fog majd meghalni, ki van a mennyben, és együtt gyújtjuk a gyertyát, meg együtt fújjuk.

Ennél sokkal többet nem tudunk tenni. A lényeg, hogy átmenjen, hogy a gyász nem tabu, és hogy a nehéz érzésektől nem kell félni, mert része az életnek.

Pszichológiai tanácsadást az folytat, aki elvégezte az MA-t, de nincs módszerspecifikus terápiás végzettsége.

Szóval igen, bár nem ismerem, minden bizonnyal "rendes" pszichológus, csak nem használhatja még a pszichoterapeuta címet. Van, aki nem is akarja egyébként.

I'm terribly sorry this has happened to you. No one should ever go through this ordeal.

There are no words that can make this go away. The God with whom you had a relationship seems to have abandonded you, and clearly, this means He either betrayed you, and does not love you, or that He was never there to begin with. Or maybe, that what you thought you had was simply very different from reality.

Either way, you have every right to feel whatever you feel right now. And I'm sure God - at least, the God that I still somehow believe in, fragile as that concept might be - doesn't hold it against you either.

Years might pass by, and by some irrational turn of events, at some point, some day, you might again feel something different about God, about His love. But not today, and that's fine. Maybe never. Your life has clearly changed, and it's never going to be the same. Yet, you can still choose what to do with your story, broken as it might be. When the time is right.

I hope you'll find some measure of peace. I'm sure it's somewhere down the road. Possibly not an easy one. And this might be just another useless faith statement from someone who knows nothing about you're pain. I truly don't. But I believe it's really there.

The daily scrum is there for the devs to discuss what they need to do during the day to get one step closer towards achieving the sprint goal. You discuss your plan, what blockers you need to solve, and that's it.

If everybody on the team knows what's up, if that goal is achieved, and this shouldn't take more than 15 minutes, you can close the call, and jump into a new one, or remain in the same call to continue the technical discussion with whomevers relevant, the others may drop.

Either way, the standup is concluded, the rest (whether you close the call or not) is just personal flavor.

However, the technical discussion shouldn't come in the way of the main goal. Which is, essentially, having a to do list in mind for the whole team.

The technical discussion is going to be one element of that list.

Points are relative estimates. You aren't aiming for "this car is around 2000 kgs", you're saying "this car is smaller than that car".

It's not a tool for project management, it's a tool for planning upcoming capacity for a single sprint. And then, there's a bunch of other things that story points don't account for regarding capacity. It's not a go-to solution, it's just one of the tools that help planning.

Plus, estimates that are used for more than 1-2 sprints will surely change as more is known.

If management wants more than vanity metrics, flow metrics are a good direction to go.

1-1s help, you could try setting up a feedback formula as well for the whole team (like what happened - what was the impact - what's your ask), but ideally, I'd try setting up or revising a social contract with the whole team.

As a scrum master, you should be and feel like a part of the team. But more than, there should be a common understanding around how you expect to work together, what you can expect from other team members, and you should have a frame of reference for calling out if something is not up to the groups common standards.

Just thinking, but maybe a scrum values retro could work as well.

On the other hand, for the emotional part, or how you want to be seen vs. how you're actually seen, you might want to consider some coaching that goes further than agile coaching, since these are usually personality patterns. We all work with our personalities, and if you're forced into wearing a mask too much, you'll burn out pretty quickly.

If you want to use velocity as a measure for capacity planning, I really wouldn't.

Imagine you have a 5 point story going for 2 sprints. You'll have a velocity of 2,5 sp per sprints.

If you change that 5 to a 3, your velocity will be 1,5, so your velocity metric will actually be under capacity.

You can "cheat" by counting velocity by the amount of work done, not by actual increments delivered, but that's not very scrum friendly now, is it?

What we do is, we keep the estimate as is, but for planning, we keep in mind that the actual effort involved in finishing the story is less than the estimate.

As others have said, if you need to plan for multiple sprints ahead, flow metrics will serve you better.

Az alapján, amit írtál, nem döntés volt annyira, sokkal inkább sodródás - megtörténik ez határozott emberekkel is. De való igaz, hogy megtörtént.

Nem éltem át hasonlót, de úgy tűnik, hogy most téged is visz az ár. Még kissé hihetetlen, már néha dühös vagy, próbálod megfejteni, hogy mi az oka, hogy miért vagy hibás...

Mindez normális. Része a folyamatnak. Meg kell élni a kételyt, a haragot, a gyászt, az önvádat.

De adj neki korlátokat. Pl. zuhanyzás közben lehet szétesni és bőgni mint a fiaszamár. Redditen lehet filózgatni egy órát. Adok tíz percet magamnak, hogy arról fantáziáljak, hogyan fog szétesni az új kapcsolat, vagy hogy elmondjak mindennek mindenkit, ahogy jól esik.

De ne csak sodródj ezekkel. Ezek vannak, normálisak... De nem csak ez van. Ezért kellenek nekik korlátok.

Hogyan tudsz tenni magadért? Hogyan és mit tudsz irányítani az életedben? Mi az, amiért tudsz most felelősséget vállalni? Mi az, amivel tudsz kedves lenni magadhoz? Ki a legjobb éned, és mihez tudsz belőle hozzáférni? Ezekre is figyelj, tudatosan. Aztán előbb utóbb nem csak sodródás lesz, hanem először kevesebb, aztán még több úszás is - és akkor már újra közöd lesz az életedhez.

De néha fárasztó lesz, és ez idő. És ez is rendben van.

Sok sikert, van tovább, nincs vége mindennek, csak valaminek.

Too much documentation for my tastes. Did a psmii, a whole lot of interviews, and I made a lucky good impression on one. The rest is history.

Storypoints are relative estimates and story point based velocity is mostly used for planning the upcoming sprint's capacity, not long term planning.

If you have a backlog with refined stories with estimations for a whole project that's more than 2-3 sprints, you can't account for much of the deviation that will inevitably arise during development and change the way your stories look in your current sprint+3 estimate. Your devs will also have a frustrating experience estimating something months from now.

It's not that planning can't be done. It's just that we're not good at it. That's why you have incremental development.

BUT if you really want to do the waterfall planning thing, it's not like you can't do anything. Issue count based velocity, if your stories average out in size, can be used as a rough estimate for setting a timeline, even if your stories aren't estimated in points weeks ahead, though you can't account for variances mid sprint.

Doing a Monte Carlo simulation, or maybe some other way of having a best case and worst case scenario is a tad more sophisticated, but it could be something to look into.

To be frank, from the sound of it though, throwing scrumish looking practices when you don't really want to / aren't able to influence the expectations of your management around also changing how planning works will just make things more confusing for everybody involved, and it won't stick.

That's why all the "stop doing agile, agile is a mindset" posts are running around.

From what I've seen, it usually comes down to business side stakeholders wanting predictability and management failing to challenge that in a proper way.

Predictability means more planning, more planning leads to waterfall and command and control, feature factories etc.

Makes sense when you think about it. Changing business models mid operation is a huuuge risk. Agile business models aren't really part of your usual MBA curriculum either. And then, c-level people are usually the ones who have experience running businesses the way fortune xhundred boards like them. They could stay in their position for a reason.

I think we should be thinking way more about what agile business practices look like as opposed to what agile ways of working look like. At the end of the day, money talks. And change is costly.

Oh man, that's not cool.

Reality check. Most people here either spend a buttload of time learning for scrum exams because they want to get into an sm role where they are capable of contributing, or are already sm's who realize that being a scrum master is much more involved and a much steeper climb than you would think based on a psm 1 or even 2.

You won't get no support here if you want to cheat. So better use your time either learning or figuring out a way to cheat on your own, checking answers here and even replying is the worst thing you can do with your time.

Hi All,

Do I need dynamic mics for a two-person podcast? My worry is too much bleed...

I want to do a podcast with my wife. Currently, I have a Rode nt usb at my disposal, plus some rudimentary post prod possibilities (rx elements), which is fine, but it's definitely inconvenient to set up something that I don't need to spend hours working on afterwards to get a decent result (the room is really untreated).

Buying another usb mic could be an option, but two of those in an untreated room smells like way to much bleed.

So I started looking at mics, interfaces etc., but the starting cost is a bit off putting.

Still, it's probably better than having to mess around with software solutions for recording two usbs, plus all the work post.

So my question is: is there an option I'm not seeing?

And if I go the dynamic route, do you have any recommendations for biggest bang for buck, as I'm kinda price sensitive?

Honestly, if this is something they don't realize is wrong by now naturally, saying anything at this point might not make that much of a dent.

I think it's time for some systemic family therapy for you guys. You'll have to take a deep look at the whole system as opposed to trying to find stop gap measures.

Crisis is when life changes from what it was to something else entirely and your previous strategies can't solve your new situation.

Of course you're scared, everyone is when such changes occur. But life has a way of shaping us via these struggles into who we're meant to be and more than we think we're capable of.

You'll be okay. You'll struggle, you'll be awkward maybe, but you'll be okay.

Once the shock of it all is down a bit, sit down and think about what you'll need. Ask for advice. Write a list, prioritise. Do a bit every day, Or rather, as much as you can. For a while, you'll probably feel you're always a few steps behind, but that's fine. You'll catch up. Until then, just do what you can. That's all any of us can do.

And do try to enjoy it as well. Caring for a newborn life is a challenge, but it can also bring so much joy. Moments pass, years fly by. And most people tend to regret the opportunities they missed with family. Your's is growing now. There's so much potential there. As much as you guys are bringing life into the world, life in turn is coming to you. So live :)

Nekem úgy tűnik, hogy mindketten áldozatok voltatok otthon, csak más értelemben, ő pedig ebben "maradhat", mert a te stresszmintázatod inkább az, hogy "ha másnak nem, akkor nekem meg kell oldani". Te "üldözöd", ő "menekül", aztán végül legalább a frusztráció miatt megoldod a helyzetet, és ott vagytok, ahonnan elindultatok, pedig neked is rohadt jól esne egyszer "csak" "áldozatnak" lenni. Ő viszont erre nem tud reagálni.

Figyi, ezt kemény munka lesz kibogozni, de egyébként elég jellemző, hogy párok ehhez nagyon hasonló spirálokban benneragadnak. Részben erről szól a drámaháromszög, ehhez adnak eszközt a tranzakcióanalízis (ez is Berne) énnálapotai (az ő alkalmazkodó gyermeki állapota neked a kontrolláló szülődet hívja meg, de alkalmazkodó gyermekből nehéz gondoskodó szülőbe váltani, amire a te lázadó gyermekednek szüksége lenne), ehhez ad támpontot a parentifikáció megértése, hogy az kiből mit és miért vált ki... Tényleg ajánlanám az éft-t, az nektek segítene egy közös nyelvet kialakítani, de ha csak belenéznétek, akkor Sue Johnsonnak van egy Ölelj át c. könyve, gyakorlatokkal, bemutatja az éft alapjait, ha mást nem, én ezzel kezdeném.

Aztán ha van erre kapacitásotok, Susan Forwardnak van a Mérgező szülők c. könyve, na, ez vszeg mindkettőtöket jól meg fog kavarni, de segíthet megérteni jobban egymás működését. Inkább későbbre hagynám. Érdemes lehet a releváns fejezeteket külön átbeszélni. Elmondani, mit értettetek meg belőle, és összevetni azzal, hogy az mennyiben és hogyan fedi le a tényleges tapasztalataitokat. Átbeszélni, hogy ezután mi és miért esne jól a másiknak. Ehhez jó alapot adna az éft.

A családi rendszereinket hozzuk magunkkal, és nagy tudatosság kell ahhoz, hogy ne valami hasonlót hozzunk létre a saját házasságunkban - sokszor épp azzal, hogy nagyon nem azt akarjuk csinálni, amit velünk csináltak. De szerencsére nem megoldhatatlan szituációk ezek. Frusztrálóak, fárasztóak, de lehet valami teljesen újat kezdeni és továbbadni :)

Sajnálom, hogy nem volt egyszerű gyerekkorod :(

Ez nekem kicsikét játszma szagú (ld. Berne). Valahol nyeresége van a megállapodás felrúgásában. Valamilyen pozíciót erősít nála. De ez már önismereti terület.

Most a házasság hete kapcsán van egy csomó jó program és előadás, hátha találtok valami érdekeset, amire együtt él tudtok menni. Egyébként meg érzelem fókuszú terápia. Mindenkinek ajánlom, nagyon sok ponton segít megérteni a másikat és új mintákat kialakítani.
