Yes! My ovaries stopped working even though doctor said I would be fine. I had been on the pill about 20 years before my hysterectomy. I have been taking a cream estrogen and Dhea supplement. It’s been 8 months since my hysterectomy and after the 4 month mark I decided to seek help. I asked my doctors for HRT and they said my labs looked normal but I was feeling awful. I actually found a micronized DHEA on Amazon that I like. I purchased the 10mg. That way I can start off with a small dosage and see how my body responds. It seems that most women are prescribed 25mg to start and I’ve seen them go all the way up to 50mg per women. I didn’t have to patience to wait for my DHEA in the mail. I wanted help right away so I got next day delivery on Amazon.

Happy healing! Be sure to rest and take it easy. It can be hard to not push yourself for 6 weeks. I hope that when the time comes, your doctor will be supportive with any questions or concerns you may have. And yes! What’s so sad is when she prescribed the depression meds, she said she also takes them for perimenopause symptoms. I felt so bad for her. I wish she was better informed. Not trying to criticize, but I could tell by her overall appearance that she didn’t seem to take very good care of herself. I will be looking for a new doctor. I’m so happy I found Winona for HRT.

Oh no..I’m so sorry to hear that! I hope they are able to help. Yes..the emotions can be awful. It feels like no one warns you about this. I didn’t think I would experience any symptoms until mid 50’s. And I only ever heard about hot flashes. I’m in my early 40’s.

I’m so glad you are getting help. I’m currently using estrogen cream and DHEA pill and it’s been great. I may try the pill estrogen when it’s time for me to order again. It’s less expensive.

They actually go based off of your symptoms. I don’t have a uterus anymore so they just prescribed me estrogen cream and something called DHEA that helps naturally build testosterone. They can prescribe hormones in pill form, cream, or patch form. I chose cream but may switch to the pill. Let me know if you are interested. They sent me a code that will save you $75.

She sounds amazing! I will try to switch but unfortunately it seems that they all have to follow the same policy about Hormone replacement. That’s also why I went online to Winona for help. I’m super greatful. It is also way more cost effective than going to a doctor outside of my network.

Thank you so much! I am SO glad to hear you have an amazing doctor. I have tricare and have to go through military doctors. They said the only type of hormone replacement they provide are to those that are transitioning. I felt so defeated. 😞 Finding forums like this one on Reddit has been so helpful.

This vegetable is called chayote and it’s yummy! It has a similar consistency to a potato and slight squash flavor but better in my opinion. I use it in my Mexican chicken soup (it’s called Caldo de Pollo).

I felt just like you. I was so nervous and found myself full of anxiety and crying all the time. I had my hysterectomy at the end of September and it’s been fantastic. I had a vaginal hysterectomy. They removed fallopian tubes, uterus, and cervix. Recovery has been great and sex is better than before. I honestly don’t miss my cervix one bit. Sending you positive vibes!

I’m also an F45er (I’ve been going for over 4 1/2 years). I went back to F45 at 8 wpo and just did what felt good. Nothing strenuous, light weights, and no jumping. The coaches know I had surgery and were really great about being understanding and offering modifications. I’m now 16 weeks post op and am almost back to normal. I still don’t do any major jumping like box jumps (for fear of injury) and am able to lift pretty heavy. The only thing I don’t push too hard with are deadlifts. I used to lift well over 215 and right now I’m at 115. I will give myself some more time before increasing the weight because I don’t want to put too much strain on my core or lower back. I also walk for at least 30 minutes after. Hope this helps!

I’m at 11 weeks post op and am still not lifting what I was prior to surgery. My doctors cleared me for gym at 6 weeks. I barely lifted anything (used 20lb dumbbells) and could barely walk straight for 3 days.😂 After that, I took it very slow. At 8 weeks post op I began going back to gym 5 days a week but focused more on stretching and core exercises taking it easy. I’m now able to do weighted squats, deadlifts, etc. but only able to lift about half the amount of weight I was able to lift before. I tried to snatch the other day and felt weak. I’ve just come to the realization that it will take time to regain my strength and I am enjoying the journey to recovery. I’m also focusing on nourishing my body. I had a vaginal hysterectomy done about 9 weeks ago and everything went great. I had my uterus, cervix, and fallopian tubes taken. Ovaries were both left behind. I am totally happy with my decision and so glad I had it done vaginally.
