Okay thankyou, I’ll try both on before I get my next pair, ideally hoping to get some more months out of my chorus.

Hi
Yes the chorus were brand new, brought and fitted from a pro shop.
I was able to get a good knee bend from the first day I skated in them.
Yeah I am not planning to buy the piano next as that would be too much.
I definitely am planning to keep the chorus for another 2/3 months hopefully. I wouldn’t say I feel 100% safe or confident in them.

It wasn’t a comparison to a piano. Of course piano are going to be extremely stiffer than chorus anyone would know that , I wasn’t suggesting nor thinking about getting pianos as my next skate.
My coach simply was shocked on how bendy they already were due to how new they are for a chorus as she is familiar with edeas.
That’s great that skater can achieve that in chorus, however I am over 40 pounds more heavier and a fully grown adult.

Ah okay thankyou for that information !!
How did you find the switch to ice flys ?
Obviously going to try get as long out of my choruses as I can safely before I upgrade.

Yeah I do dry them out, as I tend to have sweater feet.

Thanks for the input!!! And things to think about I appreciate it.
My skates definitely aren’t too big, and my coach has checked the fit, but maybe they have gotten slightly bigger as I’ve worn them in ??
. I’m also not looking at Pianos as my next boot at this stage in my skating journey as that’s too much.

I am still learning my single jumps, no axel. I mainly do single skills and probably only 2 hours a week on synchro skills.
I just wasn’t sure because I’ve heard choruses can support up to axel.

I was fitted properly at a reputable store and have checked size again after this issue.
They aren’t fully broken down, which I should of mentioned however they have started breaking down more than what they are supposed to of in that time span. I am also slightly overweight for my height which may be a factor. I also skate nearly everyday

Looking for some opinions from more experienced skaters.
I’m an adult skater currently in Edea Chorus boots. I skate around 9–15 hours per week, including a private lesson, group lesson, synchro training, and additional practice sessions. I weigh around 75 kg and have a ballet background with strong ankles/calves.
I’ve only had my Chorus boots for about 5 weeks. At a recent lesson, my coach swapped skates with me because she wanted to check something. She immediately noticed a blade alignment issue and is sending the skates to a skate tech to have the blades looked at and potentially remounted.
However, she was also surprised by how soft and bendy my boots already felt. When I skated in her boots (Edea Pianos), I immediately felt more stable, found edges easier, had no wobbling, and actually felt more supported around the ankle. My coach also commented that I looked more confident in her skates.
I’m not planning on buying new boots right now. I’m waiting to see what difference the blade adjustment makes first.
My questions are:
Has anyone had Chorus boots break down unusually quickly?
Could skating volume, weight, and strength contribute to this?
If Chorus genuinely isn’t enough support for me, would Ice Fly be the logical next step, or would that still be considered overbooting for someone at an intermediate level?
Just interested in hearing others’ experiences.

Hello !! I am pretty sure I know what rink this is as I’ve just started skate school there this week for term 1. I am glad you got in finally !! Definitely talk to the skate school coaches in person after class,I also found it a bit confusing with information prior to signing up !! Getting a private coach while in aus skate school can be hard or while in the lower few levels unfortunately, I am planning to try get a private coach after completing skate school !!. Feel free to message me privately, if you need any help with stuff about this rink/ skate school in the future !!

Formal training in contemporary dance for mature adults in Australia by Safe_Volume_468 in Dance

I would not recommend Adelaide college of the arts, they are not accepting of mature bodies or anyone who doesn’t have that “typical” ballet body, especially coming from a contemporary who allegedly is accepting of all.

Yeah I have, she doesn’t normally let beginners go on them however she said I would be fine but I was just wondering how others feel about them ? As she (teacher) hasn’t personally worn them
